Trading in intangibles like "inside view" is only for those of us who do not have the self-respect to know our true worth.
As Ayn said, "run for your life from any man who tells you that money is evil. That sentence is the leper’s bell of an approaching looter." You haven't told me money is evil, but you're getting awfully close. She also said, "Money is the barometer of a society’s virtue," and you sir, are registering as freezing cold.
Who is John Galt? Not some dude volunteering at another dude's event for free, especially when the second dude is going to make money from it.
Do instead as Ayn said America did, "They gave the people better jobs, higher wages and cheaper goods with every new machine they invented, with every scientific discovery or technological advance—and thus the whole country was moving forward and profiting, not suffering, every step of the way."
Give people jobs. Pay them for the labor they perform for you. Don't mooch off of their sentimentality with arguments of free lunches.
THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH GOOD SIR!
Volunteering at such an event is a perfect example of a value-for-value exchange. The organizers get your labor, you get attendance at the event, association with some people "behind the scenes" that you would not otherwise get, an inside view of how such events are organized, and someone might offer to buy you lunch. It is a CLASSIC exchange; if money is the only thing that ever motivates you, you have condemned yourself to a boring and narrow existence - what value have you to offer anyone?
Now, as to your last sentence.
keep your "we"s to yourself; you speak only for yourself and certainly not for me; such presumption is rude.
"...kick you out..." sounds a whole lot like a threat of force to me, and I swore to oppose such with my life, my fortune, and my sacred honor a very long time ago. Just how would you intend to go about this, and have you any idea who would be on the side of right?

I hardly think it is an "insult to the corpse of Ayn Rand" since we're a.) spreading her message and values and b.) not holding a gun to anyone's head to force them to volunteer. You volunteer of your own free will.
In addition to helping out Atlas Shrugged, FreePACs are a lot of fun. I've been to one in Cincinnati, OH before. It's great to be around people that have similar values.

There is not a sufficient profit motive to volunteer.

Pay people to help your efforts.
