Bernie the Commie wants Universal Health Care just one little problem

Bernie the commie just said how much he wants everyone to have health care, for free. That it is their right. I believe there is one group of people who have been subjected to such a threat, and who have not had a good time of it, nor benefited from it. I just wish someone questioning him had just stood up and said: VA.
Bernie, Felony Pelosi, HillaryBeast and the Obamanation have all carefully ignored the fact that government health care is an unmitigated disaster, and the more they get involved the worse it gets, and more expensive. This is just so illustrative of their idiotic, totally ignorant of reality philosophy.

    Because "money" today is becoming almost totally nothing more than digital bookkeeping entries, perhaps your though has merit somehow!

    What if, at some age-point, such as whenever one has finished his education and it's time to begin producing for his sustenance, each receives a digital entry for that big fat check. No taxes, no redistribution, nothing more, not ever. If the "money" is frittered away, that's the end of him!

    Sorry Abaco, that is reserved only for the very special donors of each party, and you must be registered. However, I am sure they will be happy to impose a new tax on you instead....

    I believe it was done with good intent post WW2, due to the fact a lot of medical resources had been folded into the military, and there was a need to stimulate and build a non military system to deal with all the wounded that were flooding the country, especially with prosthetics and recovery surgery. Of course, like any government project, it grew and mutated into a totally dysfunctional beast. They could have implemented a system of payments and references, but I can understand the need at that time. Especially since we were just post-daddy FDR from whom all things good came.

    Yes. I realize I was not clear with my sarcasm. I don't understand why the gov't created the VA in the first place. There was already a marketplace of suppliers and consumers, so why reinvent the wheel.

    That may be, but Vets Healthcare has been a contractual guarantee. For the government, they have a bad history of offering "deals" and then reneging on them. Look at the WW1 Bonus March for that. The VA could be a lot smaller, better and do what was agreed to, if idiots like him were not involved.

    Why not food for free too. And if we follow the VA model, we don't just give out checks but build gov't grocery stores and distribution chains.

    It's also abuse of the word "right". "Rights" are absolute. We may or may not be able to afford to pay people's healthcare, but we can always respect rights like free speech, bear arms, etc.
