Has anyone noticed that we just went to war with Syria?

And that we are backing the rebels who just pledged loyalty to al-Qaeda?

wyn, Consider making this a post. If you do, I'll make my comment again. I think it's an interesting topic for discussion.
If we truly lived up to the spirit of the Constitution, then we would also have the right economic system. For other countries, historically, those who have pursued economic freedom, have been more likely to end up with civil freedoms than vice versa.

anyway, there is a lot going on and I think its gotten a bit out of control. Just a random thought, do you think it better to live in your prefered government system or preferered economic system?

There is that as well. I think the whole thing is so convoluted and complex its crazy. I believe people without an understanding of some very important realities, i.e. motivations of those we deal with, have been at the helm

Did anyone pay much attention to the fact we backed Pol Pot in the just-before-things-went-south era,...er... months? We also backed Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and...wait, those are countries, full of factions of which we *possibly* back opposing/conflicting sides. So, the question is: is our government that smart, that stupid, or that fractioned? Or is it the concept that if you back both sides eventually you can claim you backed the winning side?

I'm not too sure it's satire any more... more like SOP... Every time you hear some long and drawn out story over some public intrest news story, the question is "what the hell are they covering up now?"

It's starting to get spooky, when you hear Putin chastize the US, and find yourself nodding just a bit. And when we cozy up to China, which was deeply involved behind the scenes of numerous conflicts in the far east against us...

I watched the movie "Wag the Dog" last night, and found it surrealistically real given the headlines we are seeing about the need to go to war in Syria.

The movie is brilliant: all about a President getting hammered in the polls, and deciding to declare a bogus war to change the subject line.

Satire, of course, but all good humor is bedded in some truth....

What is obscene is that we are now supplying the rebels with surface to air weapons. It is quite possible that one of our boys will be downed by our own weapons.

Our pilots are cannon fodder to this government.
Obama does not want to follow the law, he wants to be the law!

I remember the Tonkin Gulf lie. I was referring to the F-16s we've just put into Jordan. The WH said they will stay there after the military exercises are over.

They did a lot more than cheer and pass out candy...Sunni Muslims piloted the planes into the Twin Towers.

No, I mentioned it 3 days ago. The incident was the false flag attack on our Navy ships in the Tonkin Gulf.

If we have already set up a 'no fly' zone (something I have read we are doing), then Obama has broken the War Powers Act, unless he doesn't consider our Air Force pilots as 'armed troops'.

I remember. Last Saturday we had a gig for a big party. As part of a sound check/warmup song my brother started playing Eve of Destruction https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsjmuvCN....

I said it's time to dust off the old protest songs and the rest of the band agreed. We've got a break for a couple of weeks so I'll be assembling. Suggestions for your favorites appreciated.

This administration is stuffed full of the the worst America haters in our history. That we are arming these people is further proof that Obama is intent on destroying our military to make it easier for him to become the beloved leader he always wanted to be..

Am I the only old guy who remembers that this was the exact same path that Lyndon Johnson used to get us involved in Vietnam? First some
advisers, then an incident such as a missile bringing down one of our F-16s, then all out war.
