freedom, I would not agree people always voted for the lesser of 2 evils. I would say the system itself has bent everything to such a position. I do not believe that if everyone voted for the princiled person, we would be better because:
a. They have had a lock on media since who knows when (I would say before the civil war).
b. That lock has framed every discussion and effectively "cuts out" the principled person, in favor of the party candidate.
c. Big business has been manipulating things for a while between money, messages and possibly covert actions.
d. The money used to "support candidates" and the rise of unregulated money, means the "principled" candidate is left high and dry. Business and people do not contribute to a "principled" campaign (unless Bernie the Commie counts).
Your position is correct, I agree with it wholeheartedly, but I just do not think that our society has been in a position to allow it for a long time, something I think AR was trying to show the sheeple. She did not have much success.

I am of the opposite opinion. The average person can publish his ideas nearly for free. We haven't completely realized MLK's dream, but everyone agrees it's a good goal. LGBT rights are respected. We don't hear serious debate about whether women have the same rights as men. Marginal tax rates >60% are long gone, and probably won't come back. Violent crime is falling steadily for decades. Most of the middle class and poor have an affluent life compared to most time and places.

We may be on the cusp of a world where the cost of making things is trivial and all the value and human effort is in arranging them cleverly. The geographic barriers on earth don't matter anymore, and we may be witnessing the decline of the nation state. We may see people travel to space, and that earth's gavity well will replace geographic boundaries, allowing peolple to try new ways of doing things.

It don't get how people can look and how rapidly the world is changing and see anything like the Dark Ages.

Really the feces are served up by the federal bureaucracy and the congress with the acceptance of the populace. Maybe with trump's anti politically correct personality and willingness to speak his mind, he might just encourage people to not accept the current establishment. Think about it. Is that so bad?

When one compares Hillary, Bernie or Trump, it's like choosing which feces one wants to have for breakfast on the basis of how many calories each has.

Sanders is the one turning the country into a Venezuela for sure. Hillary sells us out to fulfill the promises she made to Goldman and Wall Street Trump at least has experience hiring good talent and encourages people to speak their minds. He just can't be worse than Hillary or sanders and has the approval of a lot of voters. Cruz doesn't have the support to kill off hillary

I do not believe that Trump will help to fix things, at least when it comes to the economy. He has no concept at all how the economy works, his education in this area is abysmal and his stated methods and policies, if implemented, will turn this country into a huge Venezuela. Trump is basically a mob boss and nothing more.

Here are the problems:
Progressives...both sides,
Intrenched establishment...both sides.
A few, really wacko's...mostly on the left.
And, way to few, conscious human beings, beings that know and understand the constitution and know what the problems are.

For someone, going along, with no education of what America stands for, are allergic to politics, hasn't paid attention and can not seem to believe that these creatures pervade our government and they do not care about them.
They just want to rule...cause they can't do anything else. They have no clue whom to support, who is the real thing and will likely fall prey to the lamestream rhetoric.

Not only is collapse unlikely in times of such prosperity and personal liberty, it's undesirable. At least as human history goes, if you tear up what we have, our liberty can only decrease.

Trump is a successful business person. He has admitted paying off politicians to get them off his back. He is not John galt. But neither was Hank rearden. I have to say, and it won't be popular, in this life there are a lot of compromises, even in the founding of the USA. Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness didn't apply to slaves. Jefferson himself had hundreds of them. There was the civil war for which there was little moral justification. Even though the constitution had serious moral flaws like insufficient property protection, it was better than nothing. Give trump the benefit of the doubt. Establishment politicians have made a huge mess. He is anti establishment and sounds to me he will help fix things

Bill Bennett wrote an excellent article this past weekend. He said Trump should look over his shoulder that he would be a target for assassination by either of the parties or the big money crowd. He is playing in their sandbox and is not wanted. Pretty chilling. Google it and give it a read.

I have great deal of difficulty believing that the military wouldn't carry out some of his orders. Anything Trump would likely order is infinitely more inline with their thinking than oblahblah's, and they've obeyed him.
