My husband and I galted last fall. We run a patent law firm and are currently working on a fiction novel, that we hope many in the Gulch would enjoy. My husband, Dale, has a blog, "State of Innovation" dealing primarily with intellectual property issues and Ayn Rand is featured regularly in his posts on economics and IP. Before galting, our home was in Colorado.

whoa! never thought of looking up old introductions. wow.

has anyone asked you your own producer of the week questions? I'm curious...
    1. what are you wearing to the premier?
    2. what is the one phrase Ayn Rand wrote that stopped you in your tracks?
    3. if you could be the tycoon of an industry, which industry would you pick?
    4. current favorite song?
    5. what do you pack in a sack lunch?
    6. pretzels or chips?
    7. crab or shrimp?

just finished reading the short story from #2. I'm very impressed with it--there's a lot of depth there from her at only 21. of course, she'd already experienced a lot of life by then. I love being able to see how her style evolved. you can tell she was on her way to mastering the English language, but her voice was already emerging. are there any stories she originally published in Russian? I wonder if they were translated, if they'd still sound like her or if she developed this style precisely because English wasn't her first language. perhaps at this point in her writing she was still thinking in Russian and mentally translating her sentences into English. who knows? I wish we knew more.

thanks for this! I enjoyed the story.
