A hundred years ago, the concept of "illegal immigrant" did not exist because the progressive racists of eugenics had not yet held full control of the borders. That being so, nonetheless, many people were excluded ipso facto from citizenship, Asians primarily. Paradoxically, while "coloreds" could not ride in the same train cars as "whites" non-citizen Asians could. All of that is to say that immigration issues are a divisor here in the Gulch. While traditionalists cleave to a rock; libertarians pray for the future. Do not assume that everyone - or even a majority - here shares your opinions.
PS -- You post a lot, twice as much as I, but remain a moocher. Do your opinions have some special merit that we should consider your free-ridership a value added resource here in the The Gulch?
I'm not sure where you get "progressive racists of eugenics" from. However, even during the great immigration of the 19th and 20th centuries, those migrations were controlled and "undesirables" were denied admission. Granted, it was not as straightforward as today - there was much less of a border control force for example. It was also a time when there was so much growth that immigration was a necessary policy. That is not true today. Times change, and policies need to change in accord with them.
There are many issues that can be divisors - what does that have to do with posting a topic. I for one relish the debate. It makes me clarify and refine my own perspective.
As for my posting, what is it to you? Seems that is an issue between the owner of the site and me. Are you claiming some ownership? What value have I received from you that I need to provide value in return?
