I always explain, to myself, why people who are seemingly intelligent can take the same facts and come to opposite conclusions is because they have brains that are wired differently. It is like you could strategically replace one "and" with a "nand" in a logic circuit and everything would come out 0 instead of 1 no matter the input. To the individuals on both sides with their opposite brains, they both believe they are right and the other is insane or stupid.
