Donald Trump: Since RNC ‘In Default,’ Pledge Now Voided, I ‘Can Do What’ I ‘Have to Do’ to Win

The plot thickens...Trump departs RNC to run his on his own ticket, the R voters are split and Sanders take office (with Hill waiting for presidential pardon). This has the markings of a Clinton scheme..Trump is their "friend" after all. This wouldn't surprise me at all considering the snow balls chance in hell the Ds have of defeating an R after 8 years of O and teh absolute mess he's made of everything he touched (as-if it was deliberate). It's also perfectly consistent with Trumps extreme opportunism-oriented mentality.

Trump is no free-enterprise man. He has praised
eminent domain, and bragged about his lack of
principle. Honesty? Brazenness. Old saying: "Hy-
pocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue."
Cruz is not ideal, but,if elected, I don't think he will be given much opportunity to impose
religious zealotry on the American people.

and Cruz would appoint Constitutionality Supreme Court justices, of this I have no doubt. Trump? He will appoint whoever will do what it is he wants to do, regardless of ideology. I hope I'm wrong.

Some might say that this has been Trump's (the statists) plan from the outset: Split the outraged so-called conservative votes by providing a false anti-insider candidate.
Its all a sham, and a lie, and a con by the statists to retain power in spite of their obvious betrayal of the ideals Americans value.
Stop wasting your votes on statist looters.

Anyone else notice that whenever "The Donald" doesn't get his way, it turns into a Trump temper tantrum accompanied by the words "I'll Sue"? Good grief, he's been listening to way too much "Wierd Al" Yankovic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeXQB...

Funny thing is that he didn't have any trouble defrauding his investors through four bankruptcies.

The hell of it is -- he's right.
He will now be running as a benevolent dictator.
If he becomes President, I wonder how long it will take before the benevolent part wears off.

The GOP screwed Ron Pual at the Convention...I know this because I was there, Paul held over 60% of the delegates, but the GOP made a 'rules' change which took them away. Instead of us Delegates voting, the Presidents of the GOP State Chapters voted.

Trump is a smart man, I didn't understand his taking that oath...knowing about Ron Paul and the GOP tricks to keep us enslaved in this corrupt government, Republican's have to be smart enough to leave the GOP lead 'party' & vote to end this corrupt form of politic's we have had since the 1940's

"leads Trump to believe that the RNC, like his opponents, is controlled by special interests and high-dollar donors who don’t have the well-being of the American public in mind."

As opposed to Trump who is "controlled" by one (or more) high dollar donors and doesn't have the well being of the American public in mind.

As they say in Bangkok, "same, same"

I will say that the audience certainly seemed pretty biased and with Trump polling in the mid 30s you would expect him to have the largest group of supporters. It certainly looked like there was an attempt to shout him down from the audience and wildly applaud some relatively unremarkable statements by others, particularly Rubio.

Now Trump is certainly not the picture of decorum but I think there is something in what he is saying. It's no secret that the establishment doesn't want him in the race. They may be moving to the next level. For some reason South Carolina tends to be the home of really nasty tricks.

I predicted this from the start. I knew the GOP wouldn't support a guy who wasn't a beltway, checkpants establishment guy. I knew that Trump will eventually split from the GOP (looks like they're encouraging that) and that Hillary would be the next prez.

Trump is a no holds barred kind of guy, and this is probably a response to rumblings out of the RNC "friends" that Jeb has given the go-ahead to his backers to unleash hell on Trump. He knows that if he runs as an independent, the selected RNC favorite will lose to the Democrat. This blast is a warning shot across the bow, so we'll see what transpires.

Both parties seem concerned about a Bloomberg run, as its not clear who loses if he enters the race. After his money being able to change the rules and get himself elected for a third term as NYC Mayor, I think he has convinced himself that enough money will buy the Presidency.

What might take the wind out of Trump and Bloomberg is if the FEC decides the political contribution limit for individuals applies even if the money comes from the candidate. They might have hard time defending that, given the precedent of Bloomberg and others (Carly Fiorina, for one) given the green light for municipal, state, and national Senate and House runs.

we do need to acknowledge that BHO is aware of the
extreme changes he's trying to make, and making,
to the u.s. -- and it is intentional. . believe me.

second, our "loose cannon" Trump is an opportunist
and a person who adopts positions for effect, to move
forward from them quickly when needed. . that could be
valuable in a contest with Putin, but it unnerves
    most of us. -- j

It could be a four-way race: Sanders, Trump, Rubio (or Cruz) and Bloomberg. This seems to be a year when anything can happen.

Apart from your hatred for Trump, which leaks out quite clearly, this election is a real circus. The important things in my opinion are that Hillary will be knocked out by Sanders (she doesnt give enough goodies as sanders), and the GOP will have to nominate Trump. That said, Trump has a good chance to knock out sanders in a general election, since all he has to do is show Sanders will take a lot more tax money with the same liklihood of his programs' success as any other government endeavor.

Trump isnt going to depart the Republican party. The Republican party might dump him despite his following with the people, however. That would be a very stupid mistake on their part. None of the repub candidates (excluding Rand Paul) are worth much in terms of maintaining freedom, but at least Trump isnt a religious zealot, separates government from religion, knows what makes businesses run, is a good judge of character, and will speak his mind and hates political correctness. For these things I will vote for him. Not for his standing up for objectivist ideals.

      My hatred of Trump?????

I respect the man for what he is, an opportunist. I'm not buying into his rhetoric because at his root, in spite of doing and saying everything and anything to keep himself in the headlines, he will serve himself and his needs.

He is a pure self-serving animal that is a master at manipulation. I have no doubt that he helped their Clinton's with their dirty deeds (O, Reid, Pelosi, Soros, McCain, Bush and anyone else who would take his money) in return for political favors, do you? It would be perfectly aligned with him, for whatever reason he feels, to scheme with the Clinton's to avoid a changing of the guard.

If one accepts the idea that government and its minions basically act against what people want to do (hence John Galt's statement about all the government had to do was get out of the way), can you also accept that buying off politicians to get them out of your way is morally justified??

I wanted to build a house and had to basically buy off a building inspector to get him to let me build it the way I wanted to and with my money. I despise the system that gives him the power to stand in my way, but I had to pay him off to get him GONE.

IN NYC real estate, I can only imagine how the city stands in the way of getting building approvals and such. Trump giving money to various politicians so they look the other way seems to me a normal business practice in that environment.
You think that politicians in general dont do the same thing? How about Harry Reid in Nevada. Crooked as the day is long, but secretly gets the support of many other politicians so he can do what he wants. He tried to get a high speed train built at taxpayers expense from Victorville to Las Vegas (the height of stupidity actually if you look at the map), so he could sell his land which just happens to be in the path of the train for higher prices.

My point can be summed up: "The apple doesn't fall far from tree."

Trump may we'll be the tree (wellspring) and the apples O, Clinton, Reid, Pelosi, etc..

Trump isnt an objectivist by any stretch. Never claimed I thought he was. So you really want a Sanders to be president this time around?? Hillary wants to continue the legacy of Obama, by her own words. Plus she openly lies and manipulates and is the reincarnation of tricky dick nixon.

Trump is the most likely of the repub pack to beat the dems in november, and he couldnt possibily be worse than either Hillary or Sanders
