By allowing my identity from my time making bombs in the 1990s and my wife's identity from her time in the Air Force as a flight nurse to be hacked by the Chinese, the government already has adjusted my credit rating. How nice ... they offered to pay 1 year of credit monitoring for the inconvenience. Anyone smart enough to hack identities would be smart enough to wait that year to start using those SSN's. My year of free credit monitoring is up in just a few weeks. Why the government isn't smart enough to issue a new SSN, like credit card companies issue new cards periodically to cut down on the fraud, is beyond stupid!

And today ... I start doing my taxes!?*&!@!

The idea of counting non-debt payments such as rent and utilites makes sense to me. As it is, the score is something created by banks that grades how good customers are about using banking products. The scoring system grades people higher for using car loans, credit cards, and mortgages.

I don't think the gov't should be involved. We should just accept the scores for what they are: something the banking industry created that they falsely try to promote as an overal figure of financial stength.
