TPP up for ratification

We really need to oppose this. If it was only a trade deal, it might be palatable. It's not. It's a move toward one world government, as the TPP as written has authorization to create its own binding laws. The measure will fail without the support of the US. Let's hope that Congress refuses to bring it up for ratification at the very least for another full year and at best, never brings it up at all.

Agreed, when you here this in the story,

"United States and Japan would need to ratify the deal, which will set common standards on issues ranging from workers' rights to intellectual property protection in 12 Pacific nations."

Underlying that is a sovereignty buster for sure. I take our national sovereignty very seriously. Giving any of it away, even for what is purported to be a positive outcome is a bad idea.

All we need to trade is TRADE between willing partners. Some TPP treaty is completely unnecessary and should be struck down. In fact ANYTHING Obama is in favor of should be struck down, as he has hidden agendas, manipulations, and lies so intertwined in what he does.

"In New Zealand on Thursday more than 1,000 protesters caused traffic disruptions in and around Auckland and police said a large number of police have been deployed."

Kiwis showing a lot more knowledge of the betrayal than PM John Key prefers.

If its more than 50 pages long, I'm opposed.
What in hell is in it and what does it do? We get generalities. What's hidden in it that will disadvantage us to other nations as most of Obama's dealing do.

I call this one for Trump, as he's on record from day one in opposition. His position, as usual, comes from experience. Working out business deals one on one makes more sense, as the economic interests of each country are different, and the TPP gives up U.S. advantage as the world's biggest economic force. We can offer a more attractive deal to a small economy that isn't a direct, big competitor, and be tougher on the big countries.

Agreed, and this is one policy I agree with Trump on. Business deals should be about business. Treaties should be about international politics. Mixing the two is a bad idea.

This trade agreement may be good or bad, but without any details and facts there is no way to know. Until we get the details the should be a no brainer to vote down.

Part of the problem of TPP is that it sets up a board that has binding, rule-making authority. That right there should get it voted down by every single one of the participating nations.

The one benefit that is in the process of happening and I hope continues is that small companies at least in the outdoor industry are starting to develop using domestic materials and domestic manufacturing. I see other small companies in other areas of business also taking place. if enough of them do develop over time and they chose NOT to go off shore this dumbass deal will have zero meaning,

I don't know what is in it yet; still, international
deals tend to be bad. But both my Senators (from
Virginia) are Democrats, and my Representative is
a Democrat in a gerrymandered district; and usually
when I send him a letter, he does not even do me the courtesy even to send a form letter in
reply.--I've met him, briefly, once or twice; pos-
sibly, I'm also of the wrong color to suit him.

when you consider that the world economy is steadily declining let the politicians have their fun. with cabelas, macys, walmart, and now sports authority filing bankruptcy and getting ready to close 200 of their more than 450 stores should tell you that imports from aisa will be decreasing further than they are now. if you haven't heard china is deteriorating as well.
so who cares what the politicians do since they them selves do not know what they do.
