Started about three or four weeks ago and was not used as a subject of discussion. Is that journalist only with reporters being allowed to continue as before? I remember the quote from one of Tom Clancy's books. "You are a reporter...why should I trust you?"

Journalists are few and far between .

This has been an ongoing issue in the journalist community for a while now. There's a group of politicians who argue that defining what a "journalist" is will protect freedom of the press in undercover investigations and with access. But the threat to freedom of the press comes from the government eroding whistle blowers and investigative journalists by claiming they're not actually members of the press, just wacky conspiracy nuts with obscure internet blogs. It's obviously ridiculous on it's face. Look what they did to Sharyl Attkisson, an award-winning journalist. As Attkisson herself points out, almost every government agency has a press office, which is basically just taxpayer-subsidized propagandizing. It's just another control mechanism.
