Actually, this seems like a fairly good assessment of the situation, and raises the specter of a deal for Clinton (or Biden) to put the Obamanation where he can do the most damage...

    What Populist Revolt?
(The author of the article has lots to learn about matching title to content... unless its just a flashing billboard to attract readers to a boring story. YES, THAT'S IT.)

While not clearly stated in the title, I agree, the issue of a deal where Obama is a Supreme Court nominee and HillaryBeast agreeing what a great idea is a horrible, horrible idea that would just help cement the government control machine more in power. While it is apparently a left winded diatribe, I did find that their position as to how the republican claims to being the only ones who will save us, therefor fueling a backlash by democrap sympathizers (on top of the clear balloon float of the obama thing) to be pretty accurate. They are characterizing the general pissed of with all of them outlook as "populist revolt" when it is really the frustration most people are having with the whole lot of them. Just MHO, of course...

That is like asking do you want the poison or the gun? Both are bad. Trump I believe, is disingenuous at best, and his history involves as much manipulation as any politician. He does seem to grasp the customers needs, which is why he resonates so well, and the fact the rest of them do not is just proof of how way far, they are out of touch. While we may get into a bad or badder choice, I am hoping the Dark Horse shows up...

the perfect dark horse would never be elected in this current culture unfortunately. Rand Paul is about as close as you can get today, and he will never make it thru the primaries, let alone the actual election. Even is ALL the gulchers voted for him

Agreed. That article has nothing to do with populism. It also seems to just conflate anti-establishment sentiment with populism when actually the original Populists in American populists were in favor of broader government powers, particularly those that would help with a social safety net.

I hope the Democrats keep talking like this. It will scare the hell out of Republicans who don’t want to vote because the candidate does not exactly reflect their views. Keep it up Hitlary!

Not to worry ....until after the fall elections He could resign have Biden appoint him and it would depend on the makeup of the Senate which doesn't change until Jan 3rd. 16 day window to Jan 20th. With this Senate I wouldn't be surprised if he got confirmation.

But would he give uip Pres. retirement, perks and his own bodyguard from the Secret Service?

I think Sec Gen UN is more likely in the court he would actually have to work. Unless he made Chief Justice.

An interesting article but I found it somewhat disagreeable. I am surprise no one in the media as far as I know has pointed out the real reason for the bail out. The government depends heavily on the big banks for funding. It was out of self interest the government bail out out the big banks. That is why there is no one arrested for the fraud commit by the big banks.

I might add the fraud was under the control of, the direction of, and with the legal framework and cover provided by the government. When some of the requirements changed it drove many of the smaller competing banks out of of business. Simple case of two legs of socialism the Statists and the Corporatists working together. More to the point their in house leadership are interchangeable parts. Goldman Sachs, SecTreas Reuben, Tesorobono Bailout and the then current President is a fine example.

I have seen a lot of dot connecting done between GS and government positions, it is a revolving door setup and it is no wonder they are "too big to fail". It is a thoroughly corrupt setup, and the loss of all the small banks has been an intentional maneuver over the last 20-30 years.

The biggest recipient even with the phony fines added in was the worst bank and that's Bank America. Two recommendations

If driving stay at least five states away from any branch.

If walking stay at least five blocks away from any branch or ATM outlet

Any closer and after passing within that proximity your wallet will be emptied.

          And your fuel tank

and those of the vehicles and people around you.

It isn't the bank of A. P. Gianini any more.

          It's like Obama on steroids

          Pelosillyni with an oxygen tank

          Cingular come back to life

          Soros with blood doping

          shhhhhhhhh

          They might hear us.

Compared to BA Wells Fargo is heaven I've only met three people that don't l like them. But the best is not available for most of you. Requires present employment or retirement from federal service or military service. AFCU or Anderson Federal Credit Union is the best by far and for anyone who lives or travels in other countries it's the only choice. No fees at all for transferring funds. None. With WF I get 12 no fee transfers per month with BA they charged for each and every one and treated ATMs like checks with international checking fees. Mexico for example doesn't disperse money through tellers the ATM does it for them. In my Mexico account I pay zero fees for anything once it' s deposited.

So....main thing is if your contemplating Bank America You'll BEeeeeeee Soooooooooorrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy

The thought of someone unethical enough to lose his law license, when so many lawyers are shady, being a Justice, is just too awful. The man does not even understand the Constitution, actually seems to hate it. Since his wife also lost her law license to unethical acts, what a pair, to be kept far from our Supreme Court.

I have read it on several online news publications over the years. She lost her license in a deal to forgo prosecution for insurance fraud, I believe the article said when she worked for that hospital. He lost his when it was discovered he supposedly put false information on his application - but then, what has he ever told the truth about.

One more reason why electing Clinton would be the death knell of the American Dream. I shudder to think what a Supreme Court with Obama on it would be like. What a nightmare!

That was a grabber for me, I thought it worth the discomfort of reading it. Clear and present danger aside, this is like declaring she has bought his loyalty (or that of whoever is really running this trainwreck) and the fix is in. Yet no one seems to be able to see that, the love fest continues...

Nil match between title and content, and delusional assessments. Obama is not "wildly popular" with 39% approval rating. With his "citizen of the world" view, he's angling for UN Secretary General, as SCOTUS takes a lot of work when it's in session, not leaving much time for golf.

The real dilemma is for the Democrats. If Hillary sinks, and Biden is thrown in, he won't inherit the dyed in the wool Hillary supporters. Any effort to either support a failing Clinton or throw in Biden or Warren will alienate Sanders supporters.

A Bloomberg third party run just muddies the waters. He's delusional, thinking that since he successfully bought himself a third term as NYC mayor, he just has to outspend Trump to win. He should take note from his failed effort to institute gun control in a number of states that money doesn't always guarantee a win.

Doc, my tea leaves say that HillaryBeast will be found a suitable criminal to replace the current one, by the manipulators behind this mess. I would say Biden is plan B if the non party members in the FBI and CIA can make enough steam to move to her indictment, which Biden would then pardon. Closed loop circulation.

I think Hitlery is already viewed as damaged goods by the DNC. While the focus in the media is on the email crap, the mortal wound is the issue of her enabling of her sexual predator husband, which has turned off the millennial female voters.

Targeting Trump as a sexist was a bad move, giving him the counterpunch of reminding people of slick Willie's history of sexual abuse, and her savaging of the abused. With the new generation steeped in the increased awareness of sexual predators and those who make it possible for them to continue their activities, she has no credible response to the historical record, other than to label credible journalists and the legal record as liars.

Where the email plays as extra salt in this wound is the unbelievable claims of her supporters that Obama-appointed or approved figures in the DOJ and intelligence community are all part of the "vast right wing conspiracy" to bring her down. Expect to hear about a Biden bid before March, after she loses both the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries.

All true. I suspect Biden will be brought in when/if "sorry we have to indict you" happens. Fox is always saying it as if it will be tomorrow, but the Obamanation may still protect her. Deals upon deals...She is so desperate to be Queen that I am sure she will sell whatever positions she has not already sold...

I suspect the signals are already there that the Obamanation will dig its heels in to prevent an indictment, but if that happens, expect to see a lot of key FBI senior executives resign in protest, with leaks aplenty of the nasty details. The alternative would be for them to let the indictment proceed, but have Obama grant her an immediate pardon, providing she steps aside for good old Joe. However Biden is anointed, the Sanders supporters will stay home on election day, and he may not inherit all of the Hillary supporters, who will blame the DNC for abandoning her.

Another reason to keep Hillary from winning. The only one who can do that this election is Trump. Gulchers should stop badmouthing him and realize that its either Trump or Hillary/Sanders. Maybe not the ideal choice, but we ARE going to get ONE of these come November.

Term, sorry but I just can't imagine Trump being criminal in command. Can we call in a Dark Horse like Jim Webb? Every one of them has their own skeleton collection, but as an ex Marine, I would have to hope he at least has a passing acquaintance with the term "honor" and "country" and "loyalty", and may even actually think we have some rights, unlike both of these other clown collections.

I clicked on the sentence, but didn't see any article
about the "Republican Populist Revolt", or why it
will backfire. There were remarks about what might
be done by the leftists, but no reason why the
    leftists will succeed.

Actually I have come to believe that that was an intentional line grabber, to pull in people from both sides. but no matter the term, some of their conclusions seem valid. The conclusion regarding the need for unity that the Repblicraps lack is valid, they are so fractured right now they will keep eating each other until the convention, and then turn around and all sing cum-by yah, and everyone who might have gone their way will bail on them as totally fake. Which is also true for HillaryBeast and Bernie, but they have a whole government working to cover for them. The Republicraps are out in the open, and are like deer in headlights. I fear HillaryBeast will be found to have huge numbers of above top secret emails etc, and numerous felony violations, and will still get elected so they can continue another 4 years of pillage and profit.

The only thing Republicans have to do with Populists is when one of their agents snaked into the Perot movement conned them into letting him run for President, bankrupted their coffers and then insulted them by choosing a really really left wing extremis as VP.

Now you know what Patrick Buchanan's role is for the RINO's and DINO's If he comes your way turn your back and bar the door.

Beyond that the term is worse than an Oxymoron. It's just propaganda.

I do agree it is a misnomer and abuse of the english language. Populist seems interchangable with Progressive as far as I can tell, and the right side does not fit in that square hole..
