My oldest daughter is an Architect. She makes Howard Roark look like a tame lap dog. Knows her stuff and takes no prisoners among the gentlemen who talk down to her or get in her way.
My other daughter had two masters and invited into two doctoral programs by the age of 22. she is now a specialist in International terrorism. She also doesn't suffer fools gladly.
Both are in mens professions and have to work twice as hard to get the same respect as the men.
Both do what they do because they love it and enjoy the challenge their chosen professions give them. they do it because they want to, not because its the right thing to do for society..

Beautifully said. Once one gives up the idea of victimhood, all that is left is accomplishment. My Dad put me on the right path from an early age, no poor thing from him. Our daughter has two Masters and is not afraid to move in and get things done, while the guys stand back and await her lead. The best thing a girl can do is avoid like the plague feminist studies. What a bunch of whiners run those programs. No excuses.

Women have been silent leaders since the dawn of civilization. Moreover, thanx to them and femininity has civilization thrived and existed even. They were the agriculturers, the storage planners, the house keepers. They controlled the economy, that very backbone of society. Today they´ve taken the lead and yes, this is still sexism for you see, I don´t believe in man and woman anymore. They´re both just people to me...

Thank you, K! My wife is called "Sassy" because for 28 years she talked straight to doctors and nurses and technicians in hospitals, though she only graduated from high school. She's more allergic to bs than I am, and I have 3 degrees and a pe registration, etc. Wonderful.

It is well known that self pity and hanging on to a negative past only keeps us from moving forward. Last week a black man wrote and article in the local paper praising the movie, "Twelve years a Slave." which I understand because it is a good movie. But then he went on to discuss slavery and even stated, "twelve years a slave and still a slave." As a responsible journalist and obviously successful, I think it is wrong to think that way or promote the idea for everyone to read. Especially in a city like Hartford CT. where there are shootings almost every night. Why do they want to perpetuate the anger after all these years. They don't have to ever forget it but to hang on to it and go as far as to say they are still slaves, really angers me.
Get over it and move on. No one is holding you back except yourselves and Obama and the libs. You are only a slave to your own thinking!

Seems to me the only slaves left in the US (and have been so since about 1913?) are the American taxpayers who are stripped of part of their wages every payday. If the taxpayers don't work, who is going to pay for the governments toys and projects? Some will always be forced to work for the benefit of others in our current governmental set-up. Those people, the taxpayers, are the real slaves in this country.
