Who should play Dagny Taggart?

Whenever I watch television or movies, there's a part of my brain that's trying to cast the Atlas Shrugged miniseries / TV series.

Politics aside, I think Robin Wright (from House of Cards) would make a great Dagny Taggart.

Side note, after watching House of Cards, I think Kevin Spacey would be a pretty darn good Head of State Thompson!

They already had the best- the one that played Dagny in AS #1. She would be expensive now, after playing in Orange is the New Black however.

  Never. Anyone who knows her involvement in liberal causes could not stomach her. She and Brad are all for The UN taking over Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater" as a Heritage Site. Her whole rainbow children thing, her do as I say, and i will live like a queen, screw the environment, that is for peasants to preserve, is way too much like a politician.The role needs not just a talented actress, but one who reflects the character of Dagny.

      No complaints about Porgy and Bess from me, so consider this trade-
      If you comply with Rand's concept, and produce those awards, then ok by me to have a 100% African-American cast, baddies and goodies both.
      (Concession to kh, all Asian also ok. LGBT.etc? Why not? But no concession on deviating from the theme and getting the awards)

Well, if we are going to narrow the field down to actors and actresses who live the values of the characters in AS, we will have a very narrow list of people. But I see all of your points.

Taylor Schilling would be the perfect Dagny, as she was in Part I, she took the part and built it into a perfect account from the actual book

JLaw can play any part and look great while doing it. She specializes in strong female protagonists.

I have seen House of Cards, and it's hard for me to imagine Wright being a good idea. For the same reason Spacey would be great for Thompson.

They're both good actors and could probably have me quickly seeing them as their new characters.
