Bill in SC Would Require South Carolina Journalists to Register in a Database
The bill would establish a "responsible journalism registry" with requirements that journalists must meet before working for a news outlet in the state.
"The six o'clock news and the printed press has no qualms demonizing gun owners and gun ownership."
This bill is being put forth to prove a point about how journalists protected by the first amendment have no difficulty in suggesting that gun owners' rights protected the second amendment be trampled.
Like gun buyers, the press would have to demonstrate competence in order to exercise their freedom of the press. They would have to register in a database.

I certainly hope they are not dumb enough to side with the legislation but it would not surprise me. Many are products of public education and they have been taught to go along with the all knowing government.Permalink|
