"Microsoft Corp said on Wednesday it will begin warning users of its consumer services including Outlook.com email when the company suspects that a government has been trying to hack into their accounts.

The policy change comes nine days after Reuters asked the company why it had decided not tell victims of a hacking campaign, discovered in 2011, that had targeted international leaders of China's Tibetan and Uighur minorities in particular."
From the main article here:
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-mic...

from their blog:
"We already notify users if we believe their accounts have been targeted or compromised by a third party, and we provide guidance on measures users can take to keep their accounts secure. We’re taking this additional step of specifically letting you know if we have evidence that the attacker may be “state-sponsored” because it is likely that the attack could be more sophisticated or more sustained than attacks from cybercriminals and others. These notifications do not mean that Microsoft’s own systems have in any way been compromised."

Anyone think that MSFT will ever report fedgov intrusion?
They don't have to. The fedgov doesn't have to hack since MSFT installs backdoors for them just like the Govt of North Korea did in the new North Korea OS.
Anybody who believes in the tooth fairy, Tinker Bell, and the ethical fedgov is either completely irrational (aka Democrat) or brainwashed (aka Republican.)

Is that a case of the pot calling itself....carbonized? That made me laugh even more than the State Department list of accomplishments.
