Great example of false premises/loose consequents
So the real cause is not the game, but the partying that goes on afterwards leading to excess drinking and an even greater excess in bad judgment.
If you are a woman in college, what this really should tell you is not to get drunk or hang out with men who do because it significantly increases your chance of assault.

Don't you love random statistics that are mostly coincidence that have no causality apparent?

I had an colonel just tell us at an emergency communications meeting that the best intelligence source is the Mark I Eyeball and that when you get the feeling that something isn't right, you should pay attention. He called it situational awareness and drilled into us the need for constant situational awareness.
I found the Ferengi to be vastly overplayed in ST:TNG. The first encounter had them complaining that Yar was wearing clothing and had these ridiculous energy whips. Then you had the one who had a vendetta against Picard.
I much preferred Quark in ST:DS9. You saw the business side and the avarice, but you could also see where he recognized his own welfare was dependent on others - especially his host! One thing I did appreciate was how they weren't nuanced at all. The Ferengi were as straightforward as any Vulcan - just based on a different ultimate goal.
