I would like to see a departure away from career politicians in exchange for a system that only suits part-time public servants.

An excellent article. It gets to the root of our problem. For too long we have been electing politicians with pretty faces and golden forked tongues! What can be done to attract the statesmen not the politicians? Must we wait for total collapse to bring people like those described by itisntluck out of their malaise? I believe if we elected enough statesmen, we could change the balance and dynamic in favor of more. First we must educate the people of their folly either before or after a total meltdown. I hope for the former…

"""For too long we have been electing politicians with pretty faces and golden forked tongues! """"

Then how do you explain Joe Biden?

"""Must we wait for total collapse to bring people like those described by itisntluck out of their malaise?"""

Don't waste your time. John and Mary will just blame Ron Reagan because Chris Matthews and Reverend Smith told them they were to blame.

""""First we must educate the people of their folly ....""""""

Go for it.........and God speed my friend.

Very good! Joe Biden is a joke, is he not? I guess he is the exception to the rule. Every time he opens his mouth and accidentally reveals the truth the media call it a gaff…
The masses will probably need to be taught the lesson the hard way. Either way they will learn in the end.
We must start somewhere. If ultimately a Strike is required, so be it.
        Regards,

Nice article. Too bad it'll fall mostly on deaf ears. The U.S. public doesn’t care about politics, and that will be their undoing. What do they care about? Well, Mary is glad she has frozen waffles, Hungry Man TV dinners, afternoon soaps, and Andre the pool guy. John is happy he has a cushy job so he isn't too tired in the evenings and can stay awake to catch all the games on ESPN. Some evenings, when there aren’t any games worth watching, he takes his bass boat out on the lake to angle for walleye. On Sunday, after church of course, he and Mary take the kids out on the ski boat. Mary makes sure John has plenty of take out hot wings and cold beer ready for the weekday evening football games. That way she can meet Andre at the Holiday Inn across town and not worry. Politics? Who has time?
