Mall of America to Black Lives Matter: Take it elsewhere

Black Lives Matter said. "The Mall of America has now taken the further outrageous and totalitarian step of attempting to control the speech of individuals."

No, you idiots, they've simply told you to take your protest somewhere else. It's private property: you don't have the right to disrupt business. Free Speech is just like every other right: it has a time and a place.

Thanks for the correction. I'm afraid I left my German in college 55 years ago. I'm amazed I came this close.

That would be Scheisskoepfe (plural). Subtle difference between shit (scheissen) and shoot.(schiessen).

I laud trump for inspiring us to stop this political correctness and say what we think and feel and be true to ourselves

Racism is greatest with minorities - and our current political leaders. That and political correctness has reached a high in our culture.

That seems to be a very liberal interpretation of Heinlein.

Mercy is not a virtue. Not sure what you are saying at the end.

I am defending his quote. The think I find most inaccurate about it is the word "only". Actually, 'being unlucky' is the other universal death sentence.

People think Heinlein harsh because they interpret that quote as a policy: Everyone who is 'stupid' should be put to death. It is actually just statistical report: If you are 'stupid', you increase your chance of doing something that is fatal to yourself.

Of course, if you are 'stupid' and 'lucky' you can survive happily. (Niven wrote a story about that...)

The other thing I was reflecting on is that the universe has no concept of mercy. It does not refrain from killing someone because they are 'stupid but a nice person' and instead go after the person who is 'stupid and not nice'. It really does not give a hoot.

If you are referring to Heinlein's quote (as I was), then that is not an observation; that is a gross exaggeration. Thus "you can't take him literally, but".

The universe does take him literally. It is not a statement of policy, it is an observation.

I am tired of entitled black people using race to get special privileges over other people.

There are video clips on YouTube where a TV reporter is doing a live shot and some doofus comes up to the microphone and yells something stupid. Is the TV station "attempting to control the speech" of that doofus when they stop the recording, or chase him away from that public place? Who gets to say which doofus goes on TV?

(As far as "outrageous" and "totalitarian", my reply is 'those are pretty big words for a 7th grade dropout!')

    SPOILER ALERT

HoC is a British movie about a ruthless, power-hungry politician who gets himself promoted to Prime Minister by murdering, or sometimes only exposing scandals about, everyone who stands in his way. The American series is just an Americanized version of the same thing.

I'm not familiar at all with "House of Cards," but I recall Benghazi Killary's hubby being called "The Teflon Man" for nothing ever sticking to him.

Those without a mind, for what ever reason, have a tendency to blame others for their own actions.

No Mind...no awareness nor control of the brain.

A bogus group protesting a bogus cause, makes them irrelevant. They know it, but at least it gets them out of Mom's basement and into the fresh air. What a bunch of schiessekopfs.

BLM defends anyone who (1) is black and (2) gets attacked by police. So far, I'd say about 1/3 of those people have been true innocent victims, and the rest criminals who asked for what they got. (I'm counting Freddie Gray and that cigarette seller in New York as innocent because what they did should not be crimes, and in any case is much too trivial to justify killing them.)

But BLM forfeits even that small bit of moral high ground when they disrupt innocent people's fun. If any of them jump up in my face, I'd smack them down.

Police brutality is a real problem, and it extends to excessive use of Tasers, pepper, and batons as well as killing people. But it happens to all races, and the only cure I can see is to (1) strip police of all legal immunity and (2) give every victim, or his family, the right to prosecute cases themselves.

The BLM is WRONG. Period. They're doing all this in defense of criminals, not the innocent. Ferguson wouldn't have happened if the schmuck had obeyed the cop, rather than attack him. Trayvon would still be above ground if he hadn't attacked Zimmerman. That guy who got shot 16 times in Chicago was breaking into cars, and wouldn't drop his knife. In every case, the perp was engaged in the initiation of violence against the innocent. THAT'S what BLM is defending. It's absurd.

It's been a common theme for years to conflate government with private enterprises, blurring the line between what constitutes freedom of speech rights and trespassing. The lack of scholarship on this issue is appalling.

"Jordan Kushner, a lawyer for several Black Lives Matter organizers named in the mall's lawsuit, called the mall's demands unconstitutional.

"They could tell people to stay away from their property, but they cannot tell people what to say or what not to say," Kushner said. "It's trying to control their speech."

"Our right to speak superceeds your right to exist" (to paraphrase Gary Burbank).

The one online review of Atty Kushner (lawyerratingz.com) - "very incompetent, doesn't listen files the wrong papers. think twice before retaining this person."
