Die Already, by Robert Gore

If she’s elected, Hillary Clinton will be 69 years old when she takes office. The policies she espouses—government control of everything, spending other people’s money, going further into debt, and making war—are more tired than her lifeless eyes and sagging flesh. Her political party, once epitomized by the youthful vigor of John F. Kennedy, has become a flock of cynical vultures, feasting on rotting government and the dying American economy while cackling their saprophytic political philosophy: “More corpses.” It is symbolic that the current administration’s crowning “achievement” has been government hijacking for Democrats’ political advantage the system that administers to the sick and the dying.

I have the huge Webster's Unabridged which is where I finally wound up. I didn't want to seem snooty. How very un-Rand of me.

My New Collegiate and Websters Collegiate did not include I had to go to The Websters Dictionary Library 1966 which has a science section. 'organisms that feed off dead matter.' So if government is the dead matter who are the zombies?

Since they are in the act of succession good idea. But why are they in the act of succession? How many votes did they get? None.

I also don'[t agree with Spieaker of the House preceding the Senate for the same reason.

In fact I would put the order as Pres. Vice Pres. Senators, Governors, Representatives. What's the average amount of voters in a Coingressional District? Are they representative of the entire State never mind the nation. Consider Pelosillynni Two potheads and a toker. she';s re-elected. At least with their Senators it takes some illegals to balance out the state.

    Puzzlelady,
Typos have been corrected. As for what Objectivism can do, it is my long held conviction that when the herd wants to run off the cliff, a Texas Stadium-sized crowd of Objectivists singing the Ayn Rand chorus is not going to stop them. You have to let the herd go where they're going to go; if you don't you'll get run over. That's not to say we should stop singing. When it's time to rebuild, Objectivists will be the only ones with the knowledge necessary to erect a new structure and the credibility that will come from having consistently espoused the philosophy that will serve as the structure's foundation.

Awesome, Robert, a powerful autopsy of current cultural values. Brilliant vocabulary, trenchant dissection of the wasting body politic, and only two typos: "preceeded" instead of "preceded", and "its" instead of "it's" ("refuses to recognize that its long past time to leave the stage").

Now we must ask: how can Objectivism be the cleansing agent for the philosophical rot covering the globe? Or has the "virtuous selfishness" meme encouraged indifference to the inflicting of generational damage and led to our present-day collectivist cannibalism?

There is rampant ageism in this post and it is not at all "OK" even when about an enemy. I am 61. Come over here and call me "lifeless" and I will kick your ass. :)

I didn't mean to depress anybody, young or old. My article, and the piece of advice embedded in the title, was aimed squarely at the gerontocracy: old people with old ideas who run the country and have made life miserable for the rest of us, young and old. (I'm 57 myself, and wish I had started a little earlier launching my writing career. It's tiring and I don't have quite the energy I used to!)

Michael Aarethun: Sorry, the money I paid in is
long gone; as I understand it, it went to other peop-
le while I was paying it in. It didn't sit there, wait-
ing for me in a box. So I still don't feel good about
it. But I am still physically very strong; in fact, I
lift weights (in my home, I have no gym mem-
bership, nor do I need one). There is no reason I
could not do a job. But I hear that employers
don't want to pay some kind of insurance on
older people. If the government would just leave
everybody alone, jobs would be considerably
    more plentiful.

Hence my belief that a Presidential Candidate, MUST by law declare their VP nominee, and all of the Cabinet nominees no later than July 1, of every Presidential election year. Then we can decide on an entire "regime" and not just a "personality" friend or foe before we vote.
Not a bad idea to have KEY cabinet position candidates debate as well. Could have kept us out of this current position.

Man, I love your vocabulary." Saprophytic" had me running to the dictionary. Don't tell me about on line dictionaries. I've been using my New Collegiate Dictionary since 1953 and I'm not about to change. My grandson (a "millennial" ) tells me that I'm hipper than most ancients whom he courteously avoids calling "the walking dead" in public. Some time ago, I listed all my disabilities along with all the meds I take and told him about the squib we saw in the old movie theaters, the Preview of Coming Attractions. He just smiled and I realized he was just being kind. As to making fun of the 18 to 30 year old persons, it's the same as ever. The idiots, especially the loud ones get the attention while the competent producers just keep going along producing, until the Washington Wooses make it impossible for them to continue.

If it was anyone's Post other than SLL, I'd have to make a list of words and go straight to the dictionary (and maybe some other sources). But he writes so well, the context handles that task very well.

JFK in todays terms would be called a bi-conceptual. Liberal on social issues but a fiscal conservative and a free speech advocate nay a Bill of Rights Advocate. He would not be accepted in the Socialist Party today even as a RINO.

Social Security is not a burden that we placed on the Government. It is a debt owed burden the and the break even point is when you get back the amount of the debt owed plus interest plus taxes paid and adjusted for true devaluation of buying power.

So don't feel badly....like unemployment insurance and disability insurance it's something owed to you not the other way around.

The burden is on those who receive it and paid nothing of whom the primary recipient is Government..

Even JFK would have aged but better than his party. The Democrats have not aged gracefully nor infused their rhetoric with new ideas since the 1960's, JFK was a maverick of the party. We certainly don't need to elect the corpse of a party.

Saprophytes are more generally plants, fungi, or micro-organisms more accurately called myco-heterotrophs because they actually parasitize fungi, rather than dead organic matter directly. They live on dead or decomposing matter.

    Analogy or an actual connection?

    Works for me.

Unfortunately, it is too true. I do not mean to be a
burden; I never wanted to be on Social Security; but they cut people at the plant, and the employ-
ment (which I started taking at the former employ-
er's insistence) ran out; and I thought, let those
people who keep voting in those welfate-statist
politicians pay for it, until I get a job. It would
have been depressing enough to have read that
article yesterday, when I turned 64. I am still
trying to get a job. I have no confidence in edu-
cation, considering all the tech courses I have
taken in my time, which have done me no good.
I consider education a big swindle.

Fantastic! Loved the word, "saprophytic." I'll have to try it out on any millennials who might show up for Christmas dinner since they are being taught how to argue with us old, out-dated conservatives during the Christmas holidays.
