It's a bizarre misuse of the law. I've seen cases where someone was charged with murder because someone was killed in the course of the crime -- the police shot their accomplice.

Another indication that courts are completely out of control. I have no sympathy with a burglar and he should be judged fairly and punished appropriately. However, for the court to use the death of his alledged accompice by an alligator as a factor into sentencing?
How is this justice to ANYONE?
If this is true, the system is so corrupt it should be torn down and replaced completely.
