What we have today is an increasingly sophisticated full-spectrum assault on free will and psychological well-being, and we have come to a point where it is no longer even necessary for media institutions to attempt to hide their blatant work of manipulating public opinion, manufacturing consent, and creating winners and losers in the minds of the already brain-washed public.

There are so many examples of Media manipulation it is almost not news worthy. Except for one small thing -- the media hides what they are doing. this is true of almost all ad photos. The news has been know to do it for at least 40 years, The gibberis articles talked about in a post last week. It being done to every branch of the media (look at Milli Vanilli in the record business).
It has reach epidemic proportions and needs to stop.

This is plausible only if you accept the validity of the Freudian theory, the same as you would read your horoscope because you accept that theory and then complain that the writers purposely make Leos depressed and Scorpios happy by giving them tailored predictions. Moreover, from Homer to Herodotus and Thucydides to Hearst and Pulitzer and Charles Beard and Samuel Eliot Morison storytellers and historians have been so hard to tell apart. Louisa May Alcott was a penny-a-liner, making up lurid stories for newspapers - and she was not alone but only joined in an active market.

Stories of media retouches and make-overs since the American Civil War were written about in THE FIRST CASUALTY by Philip Knightley, if you read books. If you are a viewer, try WAG THE DOG.

Contrary to the claims in "6 Examples" millions of people, perhaps a billion, do, indeed use their rational minds to critically analyze and understand the world around. Billions do not. So what? But I tell you, absolutely, Heineken is the beer that James Bond drinks.
