S&P Logs Fresh High on Upbeat Jobs Data
From the article;
"On the U.S. front, the Labor Department said number of Americans filing for first-time unemployment benefits fell to 323,000 last week from an upwardly revised 349,000 the week prior. Analysts were looking for claims to fall to 338,000 from an initially reported 348,000."
Read this paragraph carefully. The first time jobless claims fell from 349000 the week before. Note this number was an adjusted number. The initial number was 348,000 down to 338000. What is this paragraph really saying? Was the number this week 238 or was it 338,000 and fell to 323,000? Cannot really tell for the gibberish published.
However given the number was over 320,000 and only 130000 new jobs were created (at least in that ball park) what is there to be upbeat about.
