EU Report: ISIS Has Smuggled WMD Materials into Europe
Although this is not strickly Objectivist, it is something we should be aware of. It basicallyy is saying the EU is incompetent, and since we know our government is equally or worse, this is something that may warrent attention. They found 6 "middle eastern" men 20 miles into the US with stainless steel cylinders in backpacks. Gee, what do you do with those? I'm leaning towards profiling...

News such as this merely creates more frustration to any rational person. Did you hear the President's speech? The same old crap warmed over to fit the occasion. Nothing of substance will be done so long as he is in office.

As to Muslims, given that they all seem to go along with the Koran, which says violence against non believers is OK (or they wouldnt be muslims), I am very likely to be suspicious that at any time they might decide to eliminate me for my reluctance to believe in their faith. Therefore, bringing them into our country particularly in an en-masse way is inviting trouble. I think its up to the muslims to disavow that part of the Koran and distance themselves from the terrorists. Until they do that, I would support a ban on importing muslims into the US.
Freedom of religion doesnt mean freedom to use religion as a reason to kill me.
BUT, our government let in the two muslim terrorists that just killed off the people in San Bernardino. They let in the ones that blew up the world trade center in New York. Obviously the current method of keeping terrorist killers out of the country HASNT WORKED !!
Since most of the terrorists come from the muslim population, and we have been unsuccessful at weeding out the terrorists from the so-called "moderate" muslims who dont do violence, but subscribe to the Koran which DOES promote violence against the "non-believers" (translation US)- Maybe the solution IS to keep muslims from coming into the USA until we figure out how to make the distinction (or the muslims themselves take the violent part of their Koran OUT)
Instead the next unit may just hole up, construct an imaginary 'walk through the assigned area,' extract and give that report. Minimizing risk for they have no faith in the the rear area support system and no reason to risk ...anything includiing having to stand in parade where the careerist REMF gets the medals having risked nothing. i cannot speak for the current generation....I somehow doubt things have changed since 1970 .
Where I learned that lesson? Heinlein's lecture i Starship Troopers. In real life I found it to be accurate and truthful and very objective.
And when the tour was done we went home only to be hounded with pleas for money to some unit organization after the organization had abandoned us when and where it counted.
In the sixties a writer for Parade magazine the Sunday newspaper supplement donned a Russian Army Colonel's full uniform and bag in hand hitch hiked across the entire USA. The miyth of safety behind the barrier of Pacific and Atlantic Oceans was stronger but it's still in effect buttressed by PC and the fear of being called racist or profiler or whatever...
Referring; to another post about San Bernadino I get multiple packages every month delivered and I frequent strange places that speak for the Constitution. But if someone profiled that into a call to the police I'd invite them in for coffee.
Fact is I'm in the same ethnic cultural group as Timothy McVeigh and if you are looking for a Euro-American with propensity or at least no antipathy or abhorrence to violence I might be worth looking at. Add working knowledge and experienced in methodology and tactical skills using provided or kitchen made devices... I'm high on the list. But since i don't look like a camel jockey... pr if I mentioned in passing a preference for voting Democrat...or listening to Streisand etc. etc. etc. no one would take a second look.
Profiling is built on percentages but to cross that witnesses make lousy witnesses. A decent profile takes that into account. No profile takes nothing into account. Chances are very high the local police in every area I've lived have me on their list already. I say that because I've been asked to help out more than once.
My answer would have been scuba diving...

No one says it but the inference is large masses of people not limited to military by virtue of it' uncontrolability other than by weather prediction. Therefore any plant or animal kingdom life can be killed or threatened. No specific numbers or quantities are mentioned. Given a somewhat enclosed area such as a football stadium or the Chamber of the House of Representatives which can seat the entire membership of congress, leadership of the executive branch and Supreme Court a good hyperbaric explosion could be counted in that way. LBJ could have been counted as WMD for the KIA rate in in the Vietnam War if time and distance factors were stretched a bit.

The U.S. military refers to WMD as: Chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapons capable of a high order of destruction or causing mass casualties and exclude the means of transporting or propelling the weapon where such means is a separable and divisible part from the weapon.
So...Comment. The WMD listed are chemical and biological two of the three. Physics was mentioned.
You should be aware that since 2003 Chemical and Biological forms of WMD have been deemed not WMD by the PC tribunals of the left. Only nuclear and then only in certain carefully descried forms and maybe not then.
At least that's how the mantra goes.
