Sometimes we cross paths with those who live free and follow their dreams in the manner similar to that of a Howard Roark, Dagney Taggert or even a John Galt. Thanks to Jimmy Buffett who wrote its foreword I have discovered a man who lived life on his own terms. Sadly he passed away a few years ago, but in the months before his final passage, he wrote what I believe is the best account of a life lived objectively written in this millineum. His name is Gardner McKay. Older readers may hear that name and catch the glimmer of a distant recollection - a TV series from before color television displaced the black and white based on James Mitchners "Tales of the South Pacific" and the series was "Adventures in Paradise" where Gardner McKay essentially played himself as Captain Adam Troy. Hollywood held no fascination for this handsome creative spirit. He broke free of it to follow his true passion and greatly upset Marilyn Monroe in the process. McKay's book is "Journey Without A Map". May I suggest to the producers of Atlas Shrugged: gentlemen, if you have it in you to create one more movie, you'd be we'll advised to go about acquiring the movie rights to this book, before I do.
