We're looking for the clearest, most concise, answers to help promote the message of Atlas and the film. So Gulch... who exactly is John Galt? In my own words: "John Galt liberated producers from looters and moochers who tax both our physical achievements and our spiritual independence. John Galt freed himself from pain and fear and guilt by recognizing his right to his own life on his own terms. He demonstrated these truths to all of the producers who make civilization possible, from the accomplished bus driver to the impassioned scientist, and especially to the entrepreneurs and traders who create and improve the social environment of personal profit."

He's the epitomization of all the different Joe Schmoes out there, eclectically rummaging through the garbage bins of high society looking for elegance while constantly worrying and fretting about his vanity, his bank account and his wife. The only thing he is frightened of is everything, but he's so stubborn he'll take it out in flesh rather than show it. That's just how depraved he is for authentic affection. He's still something of a hero, because he knows the price of his way of life is a chronic, hollowing, gritty-tasting sensation of death and yet he still goes on with pride in his gait. Why? Because he knows..: He may not be original, but he is the most.
