If you know what it means to say, "I AM", then you know the answer to the question,
    "Who is John Galt".

The answer to your question, "Who is John Galt?", was written many decades ago.

    Anthem by Ayn Rand
    (open quote)
    Chapter Eleven

    I am. I think. I will.
    My hands . . . My spirit . . . My sky . . . My forest . . . This earth of mine . . . .
What must I say besides? These are the words. This is the answer.
    (close quote)

The essential truth that humans are individuals. That they have value. That the definition of good is self-ownership

    and by extension self determination.

We hold these truths to be self-evident. ... but,

In another fictional universe many ask "Who is THE DOCTOR?",
while the more important question may be, "Who aspires to be THE MASTER?".

The "what", the "how", the "why" are also critical questions.

"Every slave knows that a free man owns himself."

    3rd try:
John Galt is the indomitable, creative, caring, persistent, longsuffering human spirit within each of us which makes us worth our salt. He is the heart of ambition, the stuff of desire and the soul of love. He is us, at our best.

John Galt is the man who reattached consequences to irresponsible actions by removing the rescuers and allowing nature to take its course.

Who is John Galt? Standard answer..."good question...Who is John Galt? Could it be you or are we not all John Galt? I believe we all are.

I see John Galt as a kind of metaphor for man's search for true freedom. Freedom of thought, knowledge, actions and the natural pursuit of mankind to solve the problems that he and his fellow man deal with.

John Galt means FREEDOM to take your talents and use them to help your fellow man unincumbered.

Giving them the maximum capability of living life on their own terms while elevating the purpose of their fellow mans ideals to an better level.

Everyone. Everywhere. All the time. It's just a matter of whether or not you're self-aware enough to actualize it.

    or

    Who is John Galt?

    Is he real?

Did he ever exist or is this question just an expression for the decay, dispair and hopelessness that has enveloped the world?

    Who is John Galt?

If he is real what can he do to save the world?

And why would he choose to do so?

John Galt is any person with the courage to refuse to acknowledge the arbitrary authority of any bureaucrat who imagines himself to have the right to control any part of another's life.

    Who is John Galt?

When you discover the answer you will discover that, like John Galt, you have the greatest power in the world, your own mind.

That power can be used to destroy mankind.

And it is the only power that can save it.

Who is John Galt? In Ayn Rand’s 1957 novel “Atlas Shrugged”, John Galt was a mysterious hero, who withdrew from society in response to a world where corrupt political forces continually drew upon the productive individuals to “sacrifice more and more of their labors” for the sake of others. Hence the term “Going Galt” In Atlas Shrugged, leaders of industry and creative geniuses withdrew from society because they refused to continue to work and live for others, while being oppressed, demanded of and vilified by politicians for their achievements and success.
