"How Ayn Rand is wrecking football"

If you're keeping track, Ayn Rand is now to blame for the replacement NFL refs and the NHL lockout.
As a fan of a team that was robbed by the replacement refs this weekend, it annoys me to see an attempt to turn the issue into an anti-objectivist platform. Keep in mind, the article doesn't even mention the Rand-like Bill Belichick who improved football tremendously.

I am not sure exactly what is best, as I do not watch or follow football, and it does not matter. An article which blames Rand's philosophy for people not doing what is in there own best interest has no understanding of Objectivism.
I am impressed with the thought, that the plethora of negative articles referencing Rand that you present (some like this one, absurd beyond belief) are evidence the collectivist, progressives feel threatened. Does this mean they are uncomfortable with the prospect of an expanding recognition of objective reality, or is it an actual awakening among many that they fear? Until recently little was said about Rand. It seemed she was considered just an obscure name from the past of little relevance. The constant harangue from some of the media nowadays would indicate otherwise…
I note that near the end of the article, we hear the same tired misconception dragged out that in some way Rand and her philosophy would label laborers/ referees as moochers…

On the upside though, "grotesque plentitude" may be my new favorite locution.
