It's not 1% to 99% for me it's 53% to 47% with the 53% cheated of it's COLA.

First of all the original slogan should have read point one % to 99.9 percent. and included people like recently deceased Steve Jobs and recently turned Socialist Bill Gates.

Secondly the 53% refers to tax payers versus the 47% who don't pay taxes. Not even on their welfare 'INCOME.' Not sure why not other government employees pay income taxes

This is one section of wikipedia's explanation... the only one I found that tried to be rational whereas the rest on all sides were largely irrational, hysterical hype.

However notice the protesters don't mind using fuel provided by the major fuel companies or transportation by the transportation companies or ...or....or....or....all for the most productive parts of the economy, what's left of it, corporations nor do they mention 67 billion Bill Gates, 7-8 Billion estimated Lewis and Soros, 8 billion Trump and second largest private land holder in the USA Ted Turner. What do they have in common? Membership in the Billionaires Club and all Democrats, socialist supporters, and progressives. Except for themselves. Plato's escape hatch is well and operating as the essential elites are exempted.

"We are the 1 percent; we stand with the 99 percent" – by members of the "one percent" who wish to express their support for higher taxes, such as nonprofit organizations Resource Generation and Wealth for the Common Good.[11][12]
"We are the 99.9%" – by Nobel Prize–winning economist Paul Krugman in a New York Times op-ed arguing that the original slogan sets the bar too low when considering recent changes in distribution of income. In particular, Krugman cited a 2005 Congressional Budget Office report indicating that between 1979 and 2005 the inflation-adjusted income for the middle of the income distribution rose 21%, while for the top 0.1% it rose by 400%.[13]
"We are the 53%" – by conservative http://RedState.com blogger Erick Erickson along with Josh Treviño, communications director for the Texas Public Policy Foundation, and filmmaker Mike Wilson[14] launched in October 2011, in response to the 99% slogan. Erikson referred to the 53% of American workers who pay federal income taxes, and criticizing the 47% of workers who don't pay federal income tax for what Erikson describes as being "subsidized" by those who pay taxes. The Tax Policy Center at the Urban Institute and Brookings Institution both reported that roughly half of the workers who don't pay Federal income tax earn below the tax threshold while the other half pay no income tax due to "provisions that benefit senior citizens and low-income working families with children."[15]

For the record, I am in favor of 100% paying no income taxes.
Cut the funding, bankrupt the socialists.
They are not too big to fail.

Not at all they just go elsewhere. But in place of as you said NO Income tax in any form Flat, Bumpy, Enhanced. Which leaves end user consumption tax -NOT embedded each step of the way with add ons - Then the citizen has control instead of just being cannon fodder and baby factories to the ruling class. Best of all no socialism required. Government doing it's job looking for crooks in a system that works not in failed State Economics aka Fascist Economics aka Socialist Economics.

Follow that up with recall where it isn't and inclusive of the State Delegates to the federal government under control of the States.

Pretty soon your talking real government and a real economy.

Couple of wrinkles to iron out along the way but none of them including Social Security insurmountable.
