I doubt that anyone will try to stop Obama. The Republicans think they will win big this year if they avoid a direct confrontation with the White House and this administration knows that. We are stuck with a bunch of worms.

Yes. To me executive overreach is more important than all issues Rs and Ds disagree on combined.

You're saying there will _never_ be a Republican president again? Democrats ran Congress for a long time and will do so again. The same thing for Republicans and the presidency. I will be completely shocked if we have more than three Democrat presidents in a row. I actually suspect the next president will be Republican, just b/c the pendulum swing back and forth.

Unlikely. The D's are counting on solidifying power that will never be overcome. They need the courts and the imperial presidency to negate the power of congress.

Excellent point Circuit. I felt that way when Bush passed the Patriot Act and started Homeland Security. I am not picking on Democrats. At the time I thought one day we will have a President who will abuse these powers.

I wonder if they they won't try to stop him b/c they know there will be a Republican president one day, and they want those powers. I want them to rein in executive powers!
