Obama bans black box
Has anyone else caught the irony of this? Obama has just banned the box on federal job applications that would have a person admit to a criminal record. He says that the question can be asked later on in the process. I don’t think it’s about asking someone if they are a felon, so much as having a psychical record that that someone is a felon. It’s not Obama’s money; it is our money and also our personal information that federal workers deal with on a daily basis. I think changing the job application could be an option for the private sector, but not for federal or state jobs.
Does anybody remember the big stink when it was learned the Obamacare federal exchange had hired felons to process applicants sensitive information?
I’m a little disturbed to find Rand Paul and Christie also are behind such measures.
Can someone explain this to me? If felons are hired to handle our SSC numbers or tax records what is our recourse? How would we know?

We live in a nation that incarcerates 1% of the population mostly for things that should not be illegal in the first place. Michael Milken and Martha Stewart come to mind, easily.
More to the point, the criminal justice system is fundamentally flawed. Like public schools and public roads and the public post office, the public arbitration system is based on the wrong axioms. Hard data from the Innocence Project indicates that by extension to crimes where no DNA evidence exists - robbery, burglary, larceny, etc. - about 80,000 innocent people are in prison right now.
