Didin't realize they actually have been trying to build a real working fusion reactor. If it gets up and running, even at 30 mins a pop, it may only be 10-20 years before one is actually able to be contained long term. May make that whole BP thing moot...

    Its a tough technology but with the potential for great rewards; lots of energy with little radioactive waste. Of course it'll melt the earth but what the heck, right? Kidding.

    Well....yes, we could. Any source of energy is going to have some cost, it is just that no one wants to pay it. The fusion plant would be a god way to do it, if, and a big if, they can make sure it is safely contained and has a butt-ton of backups. Would be ugly if it escapes...
