Having worked for a company headquartered out of Germany and helped build their US branch I can tell you that our tax code makes the German system look simple. This article is right on spot. After balancing the budget I hope the tax code (or maybe as part of it) is the next thing they completely revamp.

    Here is what I wish for in a Federal tax code.
    1 - a head tax levied on each and every citizen to pay for national defense.
    Nothing else!

    The political class will fight tooth and nail to keep the demonstrable failure known as the tax system since they can pick the winners and losers. Political power means more than national prosperity to them.
