You cannot be both an Objectivist and a Christian. The former abhors altruism, while the latter exalts it. To try and adhere to both systems of thought at once would create a moral philosophy of contradictions and compromises. Either you must abide by the one, or you must abide by the other. You cannot serve two masters.

    The way I look at it is that it isn’t my business where you derive your personal moral values from, an ideology, religion or personal beliefs. I don’t think the two are truly mutually exclusive, I see objectivism as an ideology. You can take it or leave it or just incorporate parts of it, these things don’t have to be all or nothing. Just like in religion, I think very few people truly embraces everything that is said in the Bible. Personally, I’m agnostic as I haven’t had a personal experience that makes me a believer. In addition, as an objectivist, I have to acknowledge the fact that I’m a minority in my views and that with such an overwhelming support for something that I can’t perceive; then it might be that I just can’t perceive a god and everyone can. Objectivism is all about doing what is right for you and I choose to believe that this includes religion.

    I see objectivism as a personal road map, not a destination.

    If any of us truly want to spread this ideology, it has to be all inclusive. This includes embracing others you don’t truly agree with 100%; I can see every social economic class benefitting from objectivism. You do what is in your best interest, I’ll do what’s in my best interest; where we agree we can work together. If you do something that has a negative impact on my pursuit of happiness, then I will have to deal with you directly. I’m not offended by someone else’s belief as long as they respect my beliefs. Just my 2¢…

    Objectivism does not require service to any master.

    In fact, it's the only philosophy that offers self-service;-)

    Agreed, although the West has such a watered down version of religion that we do agree on many things.
