I still seek the favor of reviews...

That is, review of my latest novel, "O Human Child." You see, for the "Indie" author on Amazon, reviews are the gateway to any promotion of a book. Without half-a-dozen reviews, it is tough to launch a promotion of a book. But...without a promotion, no one knows about your book...and no reviews. So, you have to hand crank the first half dozen reviews. I need at least three more and I need them this week. Having cast this as a chore, I want to say that I HOPE that my new novel, "O Human Child," is suspenseful, romantic, erotic, and engaging... so that to invest 2.99, read it, and write five lines might turn out to be the most fun you have all week...

It may seem strange, but I suspect a big problem with getting "The Lailly Worm" more readers is that the overwhelming majority of readers have been women. Most say the plot holds their attention, they can't stop, can't quit, despite objecting to the sex scenes, and, some say, portrayal of Caroline Brecher as a "crazy sex lady," "promiscuous," "a slut." I'm not sure men would react this way, as often. But virtually ALL promotion for the book has been "freebie" days and, as far as I can tell, almost all readers from those sites are women in their 30's and up... They have been exposed to a lot of talk about how women and their sexuality are viewed.

By the way, if those who enjoyed my book have a moment to go to "Good Reads," a major site, and rate the books and leave a one-line "review," I think it could help more readers discover the book. "Good Reads" is one of best run sites, I think, for reviews and freebies.

My connection in Hollywood, such as it may be, is a man who has thought of one movie for more than 20 years and spent much life, and much fortune, to get it on the screen, so, as he says, with a smile, "If I meet Ayn Rand in Heaven, I can say, 'Well, Ayn, I did it as I said I would.'"

I don't think that I would presume to send this book to Duncan Scott, although I love you for even entertaining such a thought. If someone else, did...well...it's a free country as they actually said and meant when I was boy.

If you do not have connections in Hollywood, maybe you should forward a copy of the book to Duncan Scott

I know, I appreciated that so much, and, perhaps, especially this time, when getting those early reviews is so tough. I guess when an Indie author publishes too many books too close together (I have published five in the last five months), he tends to wear out his friends with the need for those first, crucial reviews.

Where have you two been all my (writing) life? Actually, published my first novel end of December, last year. Thanks so much for the comment.
