Casting. The cast of part one grew on us quite quickly. The lead actress had what it takes; long legs, beauty, and talent. All of the actors were much better in part one. Part two sucked. No offense. The lead actress?! Not so lovely. And she is supposed to have long legs as noted over and over again in the book. I couldnt tell which character was which in part two and hardly cared. I truly believe using the original cast will ssve part three. Please please please!!!

You're doing OK on B, and unless C and D are really awful, they won't be a problem. Go back to the cast from 1, especially Taylor Schilling as Dagny!

    A. Casting in first was great. Not good in second
    B. Very important to get the real message out.
    E. Good director who understands A and B

Nomark is right on. That is the reason AS II was so superior to AS I..Let's consider using the techniques that bring success. As long as we do not violate the basic philosophy, the sky's the limit on how we communicate these ideas. The war is on and we have not been winning as many as we could. Why not consider what Nomark is stating and begin to take back our freedom from the Fascists now in power by a great AP III?

Just finished the book. Many of the previous comments were good. Just want to add that Part 3 starts with Dagny in Galts Gulch. Went on a long time with every person there giving a speech. Don't spend TOO much time in the Gulch ... get on with the rest of the book.

A, B & D. I felt that all the actors/actresses were a bit too old, except Rearden. The message was missing a little because of missing pieces. Stick to the novel as much as possible! The special effects were alrgiht, but the plane in Part II was not believable.

Biggest 2 for me though were A & B for sure... need a believable cast and the novels version of the story for this third part to be a success!!

    Thank you for asking!!

Yep, I already paid to see each movie at the theatre, several times, and then bought multiple copies of each movie for home, so I really don't feel like a moocher...

    B. It's all about Ayn Rand's message. AND connecting Ayn with today's sad state. Special Effects in part II surprised me in how finely they were done. Special Effects should support the movie's plot NOT take over everything as is common today. The message is first and foremost. How are you going to handle Galt's Radio broadcast. That address is going to be your biggest challenge. I wouldn't know how to handle it, but 100 pages long is too much for a movie. Perhaps flashing clips of daily sorry living conditions in our country as Galt in the sound over explains what's wrong as if by coincidence.

All the above are important; however, I'll have to choose "A. Casting" as the most important. As much as it is practicable, the characters who are mutual to Parts 2 and 3 should be portrayed by the same actors. (Where it isn't practicable, consider trying to get the actor who portrayed the character in Part 1.)

    A, B and E.
Do not bring Part II cast members back . They let me down. With the proper Cast (A) and Director (E) it is possible to not only get the message correct but to make sure those people who still are oblivious to what is happening finally see the light. A dynamic John Galt actor is needed.

Good idea, if a bit late. 40-some years ago, when my friends and I were kicking casting ideas around, Eastwood was our consensus choice to play Ellis Wyatt.

    B. get the essentials correct.
Do that by engaging the best subject matter experts. They can be accessed through ARI. Ayn Rand deserves the best representation of her revolutionary ideas and romantic presentation of them possible.

Both are essential - content and presentation - as she characterized in The Romantic Manifesto.

I think the message is already pretty close, but I am going to differ with some previous commenters in that I *greatly* preferred the Dagny from part 1.

    B. Getting the message right.

I've loved both movies but shuddered during the "Fox news" bit in Part 2. I think it's vital that you don't try to align the message and philosophy of Atlas Shrugged with any current political party. Neither the republicans nor democrats even remotely reflect the message you are trying to get across. Please don't discredit Ayn's philosophy by associating it to a specific party, both of which are pretty corrupt.

Really looking forward to Part 3, best of luck with the movie!!!

    B. Getting the message of Atlas Shrugged right

Having the right Director would be crucial to this task and to a lesser degree A, C, & D

Good luck. I know you've had your challenges but P1 & 2 got the job done regardless of the casting.

    E. Hiring the right director.

Atlas Shrugged II was a delight to see and participate in. All the actors, the script, and the filming were of top quality. Thanks. Keep;that vision and you will finally have that hit we all want.

Casting was great in II and that helped get the message across. Keep to the book as much as possible while incorporating things that make it cinematographly beautiful to watch. I am not one of those people who knows one director from another but maybe they are important for absolute success.
