I was mostly neutral regarding Obamacare until it actually started getting implemented a few months ago, as prior to that time I felt like I didn't have enough information to make an accurate judgement on it one way or another. It was all just abstract theory, and there was so much contradictory information surrounding the entire thing that was pretty much impossible to know what it really was. But now that it's here and we're starting to actually see its effects, I've begun to really, really hate it.

ObamaCare was was promoted under the premise that it would supposedly help the poor, but it's now become blatantly obvious that that isn't the case at all. If anything, the poor are the ones who suffer the most of all, because now insurance premiums are becoming so ridiculously expensive that poor people can no longer afford health coverage. One thing that especially pisses me off about the whole thing is that a significant portion of the LGBT community lives below the poverty line, and this is going to have a horribly detrimental impact on them. One group that I foresee being impacted most heavily is trans women of color, because they've got that intersectionality of being female, transgender, and African American all rolled into one. Who's watching out for them? Does anybody even care? Are politicians really that indifferent as to how their decisions impact minorities and the poor? Now that we're finally seeing the fruits of this act, it just feels like a huge backhanded slap from a man who pretended to be an ally. Oh yeah, thanks for supporting marriage equality, Obama, but what good does marriage do if people can't even get medical treatment when they need it? What good does it do to marry the person you love if you have to watch them die because half the hospitals closed and the few that are left are all filled to capacity, and they all turned you away because you couldn't afford the correct government mandated health coverage? How does that help anyone? The whole thing just makes me incredibly angry...

Believe your own reasoning. You were being sold a "free lunch." Only way to believe that is to believe there's such a thing as a free lunch.

Were you hiding under a rock? All of what has been occurring was being predicted. In fact, if anything, what was predicted wasn't as bad as it actually has turned out to be. Nobody predicted the abomination of the web-site. But the reduced work hours were predicted, the reduction in innovation and production from medical products companies were predicted due to the increased tax. The lack of younger individuals signing up was predicted, as was the increase in costs due to added coverage and mandatory coverage of those with pre-existing conditions. I could go on, but all of this was predicted if you had only been listening. And it's going to be getting worse.
