Every time I see Cruz speak, I am reminded of the most exaggerated caricature of Joseph McCarthy.
He may actually have the facts to support his position, but something about him sets off my 'evil' alarms.

That said, 'science' is not based upon majority vote of scientists or any other group. Galileo was not in the majority, but the opinion of a majority of scientists did not force the sun to rotate around the earth.

Mair looks like a complete and utter fool in this video.

      Hello freedomforall,
Sometimes the message is correct though delivered by the wrong messenger... You do know of the Venona papers don't you? McCarthy wasn't all wet, but he was a poor spokesman.
You know Mair is in trouble when reduced to repeating the talking points.
The biggest sham is the 97% number. It is falsely asserted as if 97% of all climatologists agree when the now disputed, dubious and flawed report referred to only reflected the views of 97% of 300 scientists... hardly 97% of all experts in the field world wide.
      Respectfully,
      O.A.

OA, you understood exactly what I was trying to say about both Cruz and McCarthy ;^)
Cruz looks better in this clip than any of his campaign appearances that I have seen. (Maybe I haven't seen the right ones.)

Yes. Except for Cruz's delivery/style on occasion and his religiosity he is pretty good. On other matters of substance and the Constitution he is not bad at all. He is a debate champ, but does he do it with a hammer? Sometimes I think it is more effective to be smooth and let your opponent step in it, a'la Trey Gowdy. Unfortunately politics has largely devolved into a popularity contest. Do adversarial attacks yield a large enough constituency, or do they alienate too many? I wonder... One thing for sure, this election cycle is anything but boring.
