That it was used by the Pope isn't the relevancy here... it's that this looter of a politician showed his true colors by stealing the glass of water, then treating it like Golem did thhe Ring in LOTR...

    "Heh heh heh... my... Precious..."

What perhaps amazed me eve more is how easy it is for some people to disparage others for their personal beliefs. If he believes that it's now holy water, then to him, it is, tho... I wonder if breaking a commandment to steal this "relic" nullified it's holiness? Even better... when he (and his ilk) stuck their fingers into it, would that mean that he is now officially "in hot water"?? :-)

No shame hath a moocher, a looter, or a self-entitled liberal...

It is called Superstition. It is usually regarded as a characteristic of primitive societies. I suggest that we get together an send Brady a big pile of palm fronds so that he can weave them into a pope idol and start a Cargo Cult.

This reminds me of one reason old dino quit the Catholic Church before I hit age 20.
At my father's funeral last June, I watched a priest sprinkle holy water all over his closed coffin.
My immediate thought? "I'm sure that really helped. He's been dead for a week."
My dad's body had to be transported from another state, you see.

I think it's kind of refreshing that one of these bastards finally admits to being a thief.

As an aside, stealing the Pope's water glass? Really? To a smartass, that's what's called a target-rich environment.

The irony of that can't be ignored.

You (Congressman Brady (D-PA) believe that because the Pope was drinking from it made the water holy, and therefore if one drinks from it or even gets sprinkled by the water, he/she will be blessed and get all concerned into Heaven.

So you stole it, completely ignoring the fact that "Thou Shalt No Steal" is one of the Ten Suggestions. (Presumably, as a legislator, he exempted himself from that particular little bump in the road.)

So we have a Pope who thinks his property is safe around a US Politician. A Politician into mysticism -next thing you know he'll be performing exorcisms or selling the holy water on tv well prepared to invoke a Kim Davis Defense. 'But wait there's no more. Whoops it's full again! and two gulchers who with very dry humor invent 'ironic delusion.'

That's a welcome break from righteous debaters!

Two thumbs and jolly well earned!

Unless it heals bullet wounds (homage to "Indiana Jones") it's just a freaking glass.

What I think is even more telling is that you didn't see this story plastered all over the mainstream/lamestream media. You can bet that if it was a Republican, this guy would have been run out of office already.

Another politician who believes in unicorns and fairy dust. And, to top it off...he stole it. And, he's proud of that feat? Sheesh.
