Nothing seals the Southern border with Mexico better and with more economic benefits than a Freight train from San Diego to Brownsville.

    This idea may be the epitome of all the incredibly bad 'Wall' ideas in history.

    Wrapping it in the Flag and Atlas Shrugged as an example of how to "stop the progress of Statism in America" is repulsively counter to the core ideas represented by both.

    A project like this would be rife with private property issues (not the least of which would be eminent domain). Implementation would be a petri dish for cronyism, and I suspect this kind of corruption is the motivation for the project.

    It does not "seal the Southern border". Any idiot could figure out ways to come from the south to the north. How far up the beaches of Texas and California will this "seal" be effective? Will there be turrets with anti-aircraft guns mounted within overlapping range along the wall? People will find a way; then, what? A project like this is not as it is marketed. This is a false bill of goods.

    The problems attempting to be solved with a Wall will remain and the Crony infiltration of proper government will continue to speed us toward anarchy.

      Born in 1978? Or Married in 1978 or Divorced in 1978. You are from the lost decade. Think Big again about Jobs Jobs and trade Zones created in poorest cities in America. many are on the Southern Border. Rethink of cities built and more jobs created as the trains stops unloading cargo for consumption and manufacturing plants being built all transportation hubs. The demarcated border is deed of the nation. Private property owners will be compensated with Utility Bonds to the land deeds. Some of the largest ranchers who have steer grazing on both sides of the border will be considered. This appealing to Mexico as well. The Foundation alone cuts through the Drug trafficking tunnels all 1900 miles.

        I am not a Social Engineer like those hidden in the agenda you're pushing.

        Men and women that own property and say "no" to the false advertising of a Crony project like this would have their rights and lives destroyed by modern day lords and nobles.

        The folks at the TheFriscals.com offer a facade in one hand and sticky fingers in the other. My advice - keep 'em away from your personal space.

    Trump is going to like this. He likes trains. Some of his best friends are trains. He's made some great deals on trains. Trains are great. And walls. Trump loves walls. Some of his best deals were made next to walls. 50 feet deep and 50 feet high? Only 500 billion. He'll make Mexico pay for it. And they'll like it. They'll thank us. Trump likes Mexico. It's a great place to visit. But he probably won't take the train. He has a plane, you know? He doesn't need to ride the train. Trains are for losers.         Would have loved to have done this earlier but I have a job.

        I did go to your site. Learned everything I needed to know pretty quickly but read most of the page anyway, just to see if I was mistaken. I wasn't.
        So, let's see:
        A government mandated peoples public works project, funded by;
        A government mandated "private" peoples bank to build a;
        Huge friggin wall to seal off our southern border. (here we go again)


        I guess I should be grateful it doesn't go to Siberia.

          You are Excluding a freight train and natural gas pipeline and MRI truck / automotive tunnels passageways a National Infrastructure Bank own by the private sector.             Ah yes. I forgot the peoples freight train and the peoples natural gas pipeline. And somehow that should make it all better?
            I did cover the bank but lets try that again;
            A "National Infrastructure Bank" owned by the private sector. Would that be in the same building as the Federal Reserve or do I have to pay for a whole new building?
            "Government pledges the right of way for just compensation". The short translation is theft but we could go much deeper if you really have to.

            The problem here is I can read. And I can understand what you're proposing. And I can say you have come to the wrong place to sell this fascist/socialist crap.

    I don't think this idea worked all that well for the Chinese.
    As to making it 50ft deeper to stop tunnels, it doesn't take all that much to dig 50 or 75 ft deeper.

      Remember it must sustain a freight train not a passenger train. It will compete with the Panama canal and stop along the way creating urban development jobs for twenty years. It will cost at minimum $550B funded by Infrastructure Bank owned by the people of the United States.

      Chinese built it passengers not Cargo. This is far greater than that. This competes with the Panama Canal and redistributes the entire domestic transport of goods from West to East t--South to North. While removing massive carbon emissions on America's highways.

    If you expect the government to build such a line I believe you are on the wrong forum. If you can convince the property owners along the way and the shippers who would use it to transport their goods that it is a good idea and also convince capital investors of its value then go for it. Not something I am personally interested in.

Do not fear the change you seek . this is the only answer to the big problem with an even bigger solution. The government only pledges the boundary right-a -way land on the border 300 yards wide. The Infrastructure bank of the United States funds the train in joint venture with the entire Locomotive Industry who desires right to the transit line to move cargo Not passengers the entire 1900 miles. Senator Ted Cruz is perfect messenger and victory in 2016. I told him personally that it is appropriate another Ted after Teddy Roosevelt suggest buying the rights to complete The Panama canal from Colombia and French. Please read the www.TheFiscals.com

    This is an intriguing idea. I am not sure whether I agree with it entirely or not. A few more details would be helpful in this respect.

    I look forward to seeing what the response of the Gulch will be to this idea. How will this affect the Objectivists' claim that their right to travel freely onto "public lands" is being restricted?

    This idea has many concepts from The John Galt Line.

        I had read part of it, but not the entire site. I'll look at it again when I get some time. The main reason I am not in favor of this is the same as tkstone's. An Infrastructure Bank of the United States is not something I am in favor of. It certainly would cost less than the current border security, and actually generate a profit. It is an improvement, but the premise isn't correct.

            That is a good question. conscious1978's comment summarized my problem with the premise. To make this work, it would be necessary to get all landowners on the southern border to sell their property. There would be numerous landowners who would not want to sell. This could turn into Kelo vs. New London multiplied by 100. That horrible precedent would be used as justification for further abuse. If this could be done by a Dagny Taggart, instead of by James Taggart, then perhaps I could be for it. James Taggart would use his political pull for his own aggrandizement in your scenario.

            When you said that this is Atlas Shrugged reincarnated, it is. The great plans of men made possible by using force to obtain collectivist goals, it is.

          The last border law cost $100 billion to enforce in 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA). TheGWW will create so many jobs for 20 years in the southern United States that the rest of the nation will move south. Otherwise here are your choices: I am speaking as a hispanic: you will regret the day your grandchildren will be forced to speak spanish. We are at the point of no return the Brown will be the majority by 2030. The "English Only" rhetoric that made the GOP a minority party will assure statists another free century. But the fifty states will no longer be 50 but rather four economic systems of amalgamated gestalt of states.. After read the GWW also read American Promise , Action Plan to think big picture.
