I wonder what it's like to live in this area. I've never been there, but I imagine there being a lot of scientists. There were recruiting on campus in FL when I was getting my masters. I always wondered if that area is full of scientists and what it's like.

it's wonderful -- "fiscally conservative and socially liberal" is one
description we have for the citizens of Oak Ridge itself. . there are
cello-playing nuclear engineers and inventors with dozens of patents
who just love weeding their lawns, on hands and knees.

the secrecy of the beginnings of the Lab and its 2 sister plants,
y12 and k25, still hangs over the area as many projects are
classified -- hell, y12 is more classified than Hillary's server.

the fun thing is seeing a man with 100 patents driving a Vega
to work. . talk about fiscally conservative!!! -- j
