Iranian naval commander threatens US warships, thus the USA

Ok, I'm all for blowing this ass hat out of the water. Mind you, it's not really a diplomatic solution, but I don't think he's sailed into US maritime waters with an olive branch extended. His words would seem to belie that approach.

I'd give them an escort. Perhaps run a battleship or carrier just in front of them, so that they ride in the wake. Make them bounce around like pinballs.

Never has the US demonstrated such weakness to a worldwide audience. It is totally expected that any openly anti-US country with any military capabilities take an interest in provoking the US beyond waving the proverbial finger and banter.. After all, the perspective of the US leadership is weak due to political and military inexperience, indecisiveness, and both political and public support is fragmented, is not isolated to radical Muslim leaders....

You don't think the worlds power players enjoy seeing these crazy leaders politically and publicly antagonizing and exploiting the US weakness on a world stage - especially, if there is little chance of retaliation??.

Remember we have narcissistic leadership in the US who refuses to verbally identify or acknowledge terrorism. Also, this same leadership refuses to recognize the remote possibility that there may be people in the world (albeit uneducated) who do not recognize or understand the sheer genius of this philosophy.

Excellent comment. So true. It is always the young that die and the old that start the wars... nowadays the old don't even know how to win or end a war properly... "The way to win an atomic war is to make certain it never starts.' ~Omar Bradley

The attempt was to distinguish between members of the military- e.g. those who looked the other way, engage in subterfuge and deception when our consulate in Benghazi was under attack and those like former navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty who run to the sound of gunfire to try and save American and innocent civilian lives. I do not recall butchering even those who supported the actions of those peace loving people who slit the throat of my former fighter squadron-mate, First Officer Tom McGuiness on AA 11 and then flew the Boeing 767 into the World Trade Center on 9/11. But we did definitely kill a bunch of them with precision guided high explosives. We actually tried to minimize the butchery of collateral damage. And we did drink to the success of those missions. Too bad we are going to lose the peace...again. Cheers

I'd love to see the U.S.S. R.R. respond aggressively and scare the bejeezus out of the Iranians, but it'll never happen as long as the Whitehouse Wimp is in office.

Let the idiot talk and if Iran is fool enough to actually back up their lunacy. We should gently place all of their ships on the bottom of the ocean and then send in smart bombs targeted at their leaders until their is nothing of their government left.

Then they will either be so disorganized as to be no threat (even verbally) or the remaining people can put forth a reasonable government. Organized by them and not the US. We should then refrain from and refuse to offer any and all forms or assistance.

It would be surprising it it was not a US Navy surplus vessel. Iran used to be a client state of the USA back when the Shah was there. Client states is where all our obelete equipment goes.

Warriors don't train for anything other than butchery and getting drunk amid the carnage afterwards.

    SOLDIERS, on the other hand...

    Hi OA,
What always haunts the warriors out there is being unprepared for the unexpected. We train to understand our adversaries, to comprehend their tactics and prepare a plan to counter them with brutal efficiency. But then we have to factor in the rules of engagement given to use by those who frankly, don't want to complete a victory. Then they wouldn't have a job at the state department. Iran wants a nuclear weapon. They want a seat at the table like North Korea, Pakistan, India, Russia, France, England and the USA. But the Iranians are the quintessential mystics of the body. They use the power of physical coercion under the guise of religious superiority. Their military capability is a joke right up to the point that they obtain a nuclear device and a nut case that will drive it into one of our harbors and detonate it. Even if this were done, I'm sure there are some in this administration who would say we had it coming. Our history is replete with others striking us first and then we responded. It is hard, really hard to respond after a nuclear strike. Some times you just have to shoot the SOB in the heart, like Dagny, at the SSI. Live or die. You choose. the Iranians need to make a choice. I doubt they will choose wisely.
