Obama at Monticello with French Primiere, after going off-schedule to look at the landscape: "That's the nice thing about being President; you can do whatever you want."

Agreed, it sounds like a self-effacing joke.

What I'm confused by, here on this site embracing Ayn rand's ideals of the "Ubermensch," is why people's panties are in such a bunch over the face that a guy who quite seriously IS "on top of the world" might actually TAKE A FRIKKIN' MOMENT TO ENJOY THAT!

How is that any different from what Howard Roarke or Hank Reardon or Francisco D'anconia or even John Galt might do?

Oh, I get it--we don't //LIKE// Obama, therefore we're not supposed to like it when he acts like he's in charge (as much as any President might be in charge) of the most powerful company (sorry--that really was a typo--COUNTRY) in the world. Just remember that if any of you met Howard Roarke or Hank Reardon or Francisco D'anconia or even John Galt in the //real world//, you'd probably remark on just how much a bunch of assholes THOSE guys were, too!

If he really understood what his protocol was would we really be in this shape as a country? I think not. His beliefs are beyond reason and no one should bow to his make believe world he thrusts upon those who really fall for this lie. A rebuke is all that is needed to calm this storm.

You sure can when you envision yourself to be God. And Obama's narcissism enables that delusion.

There was a time when politicians jealously guarded the power of their branch of government. Today, all that matters is party. If my party is in power, whatever it wants to do, regardless if that steamrolls my branch, is OK.

oh please, like you´re doing whatever you want. Never is a second term worth while. And we all know that Obama is a prisoner to interests, the real powers that run the USA. He´s just a Puppet in many ways, if not all.

He really does think he is much smarter than his 117 IQ and mediocre English indicates. He is a puppet of Valerie Jarrett, Soros and the one world group. He should be thinking, once his role is played, what will those one world thugs need him for? He is ultimately expendable. If he were smart, he would be seriously worried.

The pretend president thinks he is a despotic monarch. A president is LIMITED in what he can legally do if he abides by the oath of fidelity to the constitution of our REPUBLIC.

I don't pretend to know what he calls himself. All I know is that he doesn't know half of what he thinks he knows. He's way to busy believing the delusions of grandeur he has built up around himself.

Jefferson would have called them Monocrats and asked them to vacate the premisses.

That's a HUGE IF my friend. It seems to me and apparently many others that Obama is not abiding by his oath of fidelity to the constitution of our REPUBLIC.

And today another delay in Obamacare ! Yes, this country is doomed when there is NO ONE with the courage to stand up and say "The Law is The Law". It was passed with set timetables. Insurance companies have spent millions to reprint literature, forms, etc as well as training personnel for the new law. Who pays for that expense?
The IRS is supposed to enforce this law. When the President, by means of the mighty pen, delays parts, how does that affect the IRS enforcement of the Law?
I would like to see a Class Action lawsuit by all the Individuals negatively affected by this crap law !
Even more, I'd love to see (as Geraldo Rivera put it) his Majesty impeached !

It sounds like a harmless joke, but it's becoming more and more true, so much so that it's odd for the president to joke about it.

That explains Obama in a simple straight forward sentence. He doesn't realize that is not true. At the very least he has to do what Michelle tells him.
