https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hoqpPmD... I saw this like 1990? an MTV Goin' Home series-I loved it-if you can see it, it's worth it of course, Van is quite spiritual, but even the Objectivist in me has a soft spot for his love of his God
Yeah... too bad I think the sound was over-driving the microphone. Otherwise very good. This was the next song in the auto line up. I miss Roy Orbison... the most beautiful male voice in Rock & Roll.. Here he is with K.D. Lang https://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&f...
Here's a great version of Into the Mystic. It's Zack Brown band doing Free and Into the Mystic. I saw if first on Crossroads with Jimmy Buffet but the youtube of it sucks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cID3CYPd...
Here is one of my favorite songs to play. There are quite few changes, but I worked them out. I play a combo arrangement. They did so much overdubbing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1d4TLWm...
Cool! Van Morrison... I have never heard that version. I have had the pleasure of seeing/ hearing Ted do his version live at least five times. he can really stretch it out... his is a long version...
Not me. I am no front man, more of a rythym player, but, I can play some sweet leads. I know who provides the foundation... This band would not be the same without a strong bass player ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn_YodiJO......
It was an eloquent and effective comment, Bassplayer, and I deeply appreciate your taking the time to post it. Don't laugh, but I don't see "O Human Child" as erotica, really, though two chapters qualify as erotica and one as kinky indeed. My book of erotica is the historical thriller, "The Price of Hannah Blake." But if you haven't read erotica, this might be a body blow. Still, my favorite character, Hannah Blake, is a real discovery, IMHO. Not really humble, I guess. Thanks again, so much, Rocky MP.
I keep saying I'm not Duck Dunn. My brother (6 & 12 string guitar & Dobro) and I are the only ones in the band that can read music. The keyboard guy plays by ear, so sometimes what he hears is more than one instrument and plays that not leaving much room for me. I've had to adapt and usually end up playing bits and pieces of the bass line. After Midnight is a great example of having to play it very simple. I works out. I get to rest after a really extended version of Baby Please Don't Go.
I concur, 100%. But, I will never be able to play YYZ the way Geddy does. :( However, I love Eric Claptons own remake of After Midnight. Great bassline, moderately challenging and fun to play. =)
