Book Review: The Price of Hannah Blake"

I was looking for a new book to read (I am a fiction person) and had run across an Amazon list compiled by someone from Atlas Society. The books on the list start with most recent publications, and chosen for enjoyment of AR admirers. Hannah Blake is erotica, I was surprised to see, which is not my genre, but I liked the reviews, so decided to try it out. btw, Walter Donway is a member in the Gulch. The storyline is quite dark, but the protagonists are heroic, the writing is lovely (he has also published works of poetry), and the ending poignant and satisfying. An excerpt:
:They take everything don't they, Hannah? Modesty, privacy, freedom, your body and what you choose to do with it....I am not asking. I know."
"They can't know my thoughts, if I don't tell them. And they have not taken my memories. Those are mine. They do not know my longings."
The setting is Victorian England, and the heroine is kidnapped and forced to become part of a secret theater troupe serving the Queen's brother, the Duke. No one has ever escaped captivity. I will caution again that this is very dark erotica. However, my husband and I both enjoyed the plot immensely and the striking themes of freedom and Man knowing himself. Mr. Donway is a founding Trustee of the Atlas Society, lifelong writer and lives in East Hampton, Long Island.

Thanks so much, Khalling. I would add only that "The Price of Hannah Blake" is free on Kindle for the rest of today as part of an Amazon Select Promotion. My latest novel, "O Human Child," because available just yesterday on Amazon. Thanks again for a very perceptive review.
