    I'm truly embarrassed we have people falling for this crap. Even the most idealized Gulch of my imagination has its lowlifes and people who exploit them, but I expect more of the US.

    Way to go President Obama for standing up for our American values. The vast majority of us, even if we disagree with his policies, understand what he's saying. Out of many, we are one, always adding a new chapter to our human journey, always moving fast and breaking thing. Shame on those who would undermine America for politics!

      If you have left a life of being treated as not having individual rights or a culture where these are denied along with the implications through the socio-economics system then you have some very real relearning to do. To claim it is your identity and that a free country should bend to your non-free learned thinking or an incompatible set of cultural assumptions is to say that freedom and all it entails is of no worlh or value or that it is worth no more than its absence.

      The trouble is CG, everything he's done has been blatantly divisive. Recall children from South and Central America being bussed in secretly and harbored in secret location in the US, locations he's refused to publicly state. His rash rush to judgment when it came to criminal matters by condemning the white guy and the police BEFORE the truth is fully known. He open protectionism and refusal to call a terrorist a terrorist. He constant willingness to ignore his oath of office and the Constitution. We are at war with islam, this is not the time to take in islmaic refugees from anywhere, particularly ones whose identity you cannot verify.

      If you cannot assimilate and become part of this nation don't come here. You want to see what we're in store for look at the European nations who took in far less refugees and what they are experiencing.

        We are not at war with any religion. We have no established religion. Islamists wish we were at war because it aggrandizes them, provides a scapegoat, and furthers their agenda. They have allies in the US who promote their US-at-war-with-religion agenda, but only Congress has the power to declar war. Islamic extremists and their allies who promote the war narrative do not.

            If we could detect murders before they kill, we would have no crime. You could insert any identity group (blacks, women, Southerners) in there and it would be equally nonsense to worry about the group as a whole. We need to respond to individuals' actions. It's a high bar, though, if you expect us to stop murder. That's been with us since pre-history. Giving up our values will not stop it now.

              CG, untrue. Presently muslims are the only ones ready,willing and able to detonate themselves and their loved ones to make a statement. We're not talking about illegal aliens coming here and committing rape, murder, theft, or dealing or trafficking in drugs (bad enough stuff)...we're talking about one person (even a child) exploding and killing potentially dozens of people who have done nothing more but be at the wrong place at the wrong time - please recall the Boston Marathon bombing. This matter, particularly THESE PEOPLE of THIS RELIGION, are lethally dangerous in a non-civilized and irrational way; and there are those among them that see us as the Great Satan and wish to guarantee their entrance to their paradise.

              Until we can validate who they are and if they are affiliated to any known terrorist organization we should not allow them into our country (behind our best defenses - 3000 miles of ocean) and let them roam freely. The risk is too great and the cost of being wrong about even one, too high.
