This photo is an exellent example of how the left wants to see our children. They'll like this. It will make their hearts soar with delight.

well-yes, the puppetmasters. I think the average progressive has way too much trust in their handlers. They'll agree math should be a fluid non-reason and logic based "experience" but even they aren't enjoying the sausage-making of common core right now.

My eldest brother, my sister and myself are all capable and sometimes avid readers... my 2nd eldest brother hates to read, and reads almost nothing.

The other three of us were taught to read via phonetics... in my case by my mother. But, he was taught the "word-unit" method, I think it was called. Basically it meant that he couldn't learn any word he had not already seen. Til now, I had never even heard of anything so evil in education.

That picture could be of my youngest granddaughter. I have spent many hours showing her different ways or woking math problems so that she can solve many problems in "math" now. The common core approach is not sitting well with her or many of her classmates. Hew most vocal comment is "It doesn't make sense!"
I've looked over the assignments and reading material. she is right what she being taught does not make sense. I don't know if it is common core or something else the school board selected, but it doesn't make any sense to me and I "work math problems" for a living!

There's a comment on there that pretty much sums up exactly how I feel:

"Standards are necessary, but not these standards, implemented in this way."
