Oh, you didn't miss much. Executive Branch obstruction of the Benghazi probe, a Demoscat lobbyist appointed to head the FCC, Jay Carney insulting families of Benghazi victims, Holder speaking about protecting Muslim rights to a Jewish organization. Same old, same old.
love it! we rarely come up to the states but I will come to your lounge. in CS, CO we had a cigar lounge called 15C. you entered from an alley. single malts and ports were included. many, many fun nights there.
Not too much but, I can tell that the script is really starting to take shape. Duncan read through the entirely of his first draft, which was about 80% done, and it was just fantastic. A few of us actually got choked up in a couple of spots and, believe it or not, the ending took us all completely by SURPRISE. Anyone who has read the book is going to be blown away. It was EPIC. Just EPIC.

Odd. Most producers of trilogies would have had all three scripts done well in advance of lensing. Interesting that Part III has been "greenlighted", yet the script isn't even finished. On what basis, therefore, was it greenlighted? (Tweaking and rewriting a script is, of course, business-as-usual in the film biz; but not to have the screenplay even fully written yet is unusual to say the least.)
Question:
Duncan Scott was one of the screenwriters on Part II. Is it your opinion that Atlas Shrugged Part II was a well written screenplay?
Should I read the book, then? I have read her philosophical writings but always managed to put off reading Atlas Shrugged. I saw the movies Atlas Shrugged l and ll first. I thought I would put off reading it until I saw the final theatrical installment, but....what do you think? Would I get more out of the movie experience if I read the book now?
I am in the process of reading, but from what I have found for me it is not life changing, but life affirming.. my guess is that maybe I'm very logical and everything she says just makes perfect sense :)
Good way to put it. If it isn't chaning your life, that's because you are already there. I feel the same way about it. For me it was like seeing another human being on an alien planet. It was nice to see that somebody else thinks in this fashion.
You would get more out of life period if you read the book. The book is an entirely different experience and unfortunately can not be replaced by the movies.
Yes. You should definitely read the book. Definitely. You'll thank me later. Read the book.
AHH Jersey. "The peoples republic of...?" Sorry to hear a bout your dilemma. Anyway, I just watched "The Strike" and I have to thank you for upgrading the vehicle driven by Hank. I dont know if it had anything it had to do with my comments about the first movie and the choice of vehicles, but if your involved with the scripts and the production, I am glad you spent the extra to reflect the man and his choice of quality and distinction. I've been gone for a while but wanted to check back into the gulch and let you know that the 2nd movie was a pleasant and welcome upgrade and that the 3rd Movie (AisA?) has big shoes to fill. Keep up the good work and we expect a BLOCKBUSTING! "Who is JG speech" portion. That should be able to really use the power of video to illustrate the speech and its content that took me 5-6 readings to fully digest! I CANNOT WAIT! Thanks again.
OK,I'll go first. Being someone who blazes in and out, I saw Eudaimonia's original post about Shrugfest recently. It appeared to have faded, so I picked it up and watered it a little. I must say thaI don't subscribe to the newsletter [actually DIDN'T], so I missed some information she got about possible, higher-up-the-chain events being planned. I think we may have a confusion, she was talking about after AS3, and I'm talking about NOW. Comments? Information? [pointing me in the right direction is enough, I'm not asking for every detail-]
Thanks for the YouTube piece from the script meeting BTW. It sounds exactly in the correct line.
Just a little heads up, regarding Euda... He's a he. It's sometimes, well often, unclear which gender we are in here, unless there's something which we a referenced specifically regarding ourself. Lol! I'd thought Khalling was a guy for the first few weeks I was on, lol!
*mounts soapbox* I umm really wish I were Tom Lehrer right now. but I don't care how much hair you wear - or where. If your brain works as it should I'm good. But if you find, on a wet and dreary day, that someone somewhat kind has given you a bag for shelter, but it's paper and it's getting rather wet and you try and try and fail and fail to think of some way out..... we have very very very very little to even talk about.
"This guitar right here I've been told, as matter of fact I did it one time on safari, this guitar is guaranteed to blow the balls off a charging rhino at sixty paces..." Ted Nugent
I don't know, I didn't have to face the choice of shipping my guitars out of CT or becoming a de-facto criminal... yet, give CT time, I'm sure it will happen.
there's a satirical political poem in there somewhere. Man grows beard so long he gets lost. it takes them months to find him happily ensconced with his gold protected from the mayhem of the govt by his beard. everyone is shaken and disturbed enough to vote in all new Congress who repeal 10,000 laws on the books. He graciously agrees to remove his beard which takes several weeks, and donates it to MWFH (Men without facial hair)
Once the software contract I'm working ends this month, I will be full time on the satire: finishing my book of current satires, and then starting new ones.
Did you ever check out that link to Liberty Island Publishing? I know they take submissions, because I queried and they asked for the fiction manuscript. They are clearly looking at representing, not just for publication in the magazine. Ben Shapiro is one of the principals, but we were contacted by someone else.
yea, gold chunks throughout and don't wash it, cuz it'll work itself into more styles and smell a leeetle funky, but not too bad. unless you're eating lamb and duck. then the grease will sheen the beard and you'll have to groom it more. and spritz it with a little um, not sure....skin so soft?
So did I but don't tell her that...and she had a crush on me so I guess our wires were majorly crossed for a bit there. :) Non Mooch is a guy tho, winterwind...just so we're all clear in here.
It's in Santa Clarita, CA, not Cheyenne WY.

If I can pull it off, maybe I'll name it "Akston's Cigar Lounge".
But most cigar lounges do allow BYOB and some even store YOB for your following visits.
If I get it up and running, I will be doing this as well.
the organic part chaps my A double S
there's probably a diner that looks similar in Wyoming.
( I really didn't like my first answer. I don't like pom poms)..

I will shave my beard when I am, once again, a free man.
Maybe I'll put it on the "to do" list.
So I will be doing a self-publish, which, in reality, is only one step removed from a "vanity press".
Just try to avoid the facial mullet look.. There's another m-word.... anybody?
