Jay Leno is a car guy, a real guy. His Jay Walking was great when it pointed out how uninformed and stupid people were, yet funny as well as pathetic. I grew up watching Carson on school nights, and he was good. I really missed Doc Severinson and the good music, which none of the current late night hosts have.
I don't care for any of the other hosts and especially dislike the boring Letterman. I about gagged when he interviewed the remaining Beatles, how pathetic. I did give Stewart points when he interviewed Clooney, who actually called Hitler "not a nice guy", and Stewart made a comment about the "communist" in the White House. No need to stay up late now that Jay is gone.

will now have to go to Obamacare! Zing!!! Don't think he really wanted to leave but the
WH was very unhappy with his comments re:Bat-Head......Too bad; too sad.

Leno recognized his job was to entertain. He was smart enough to ask questions that were on the minds of most Americans rather than mere softballs, which anyone with anything other than marshmallows for brains recognize as toadying.

AMEN to Robbie's comment about being an honest comedian.

I saw the Jay Leno show live three times, which permitted me to observe his comic genius up close and personal. He interacted with the audience off camera. Nothing was rehearsed. He was so spontaneous with instant quips that were really funny. My only complaint about Jay and his magnificent predecessor, Johnny Carson, was the terrible disservice that both did to a great American tradition...FRUIT CAKE! Carson said there was only one fruit cake, the unwanted gift everyone passed along. Leno did a segment where a fruit cake was attached to a sledge hammer handle and used to break concrete. But heck, nobody's perfect.
