I just have to shake my head when I hear things like this. And the government claims it can run healthcare...

    A couple of things have really been holding solar back: average daily sunlight, efficiency of solar cells, cost of solar cells, etc., but none moreso than the ability to STORE the energy for later use. That may be changing:

    The benefits are that this technology would be not only cheap, but made from plants rather than rare-earth metals, meaning that a spill of this stuff isn't going to require a HAZMAT team!

    The article is about wind power only. Solar power doesn't cause the deaths of birds.

    I'm sure this is not the only unintended consequence of going with wind and solar. In fact there was a n ecology group that sued to stop the erection of a solar panel fram in the Mojave desert (Ithink) because the frogs and lizards were being blocked from the sum. this after campaigning for solar in the same spot.
